I have to laugh if this is what you folks think is the problem in the world as it stands now...

That is a bit of a leap to the problems of the world from comments regarding a bit of sillyness in an insignificant Parliament. I am no sure anyone even hinted that this was a worldly event.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

"Simple" didn't come up in the word cloud generated by UMR, based on survey data:

"Untrustworthy" seems to be the word that people most associate with Bridges, which actually does show that people are onto an objective fact: Bridges is not trustworthy. For the networkns of this world: many of us heard for ourselves Bridges telling Jami-Lee Ross to just run with the script when he knew that JLR was facing allegations of impropriety and Bridges then also dangled before JLR the carrot of a return to grace, whilst supposedly also knowing of JLR's gross disloyalty. Eat those facts.

Some of Ardern's "Playing the crowd like a fiddle" tricks like all the faux-emotional apology for the Grace Millane killing are hard to bear also. But she's still a million miles more tolerable than Simon Bridges.

LOL is right.

What a surprise that a company that Labour paid for results came out with such unflattering responses for their opposition and positive for their own.

I am surprised you call it an insignificant parliament when it is the basis for our democracy.

Questiontime happens about 30 times a year for about 90 minutes and it is loud and crazy in every Westminster system throughout the world. Outside question time the MP's are studious in their tasks and usually work long hours unless they are of course a List MPO where they have no real function.

I watched this event and yes the PM was out of order and was corrected as were about 100 others that preceded her. The relentless questioning of her from the opposition on the Immigration Affair seemed to be getting to her. That is the oppositions job regardless of who is in power.

So much for "nicer".

Love the howls of faux outrage because the Prime Minister says the sentence "It's quite simple.. Simon", over a year after being elected. A single sentence, "so much for nicer"!!

How precious, really.

My "insignificant" comment was in relation to the "World"

Are you sure about that?  Or were you just looking for an excuse to post the word cloud?

Mind you, there are a couple of interesting revelations within your post:

1) Despite the Labour party previously vilifying the practice of leaking unfavourable data about their opponents to friendly media contacts and bloggers as being "Dirty Politics" - the current line-up seem more than happy to operate in that way.  (Whilst, at the same time, claiming to be kind, compassionate, honest and transparent)

2) The linking to images hosted on the blog of Kim Dotcom's former "Chief Political Strategist" is also ...ironic.  https://thedailyblog.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Screen-Shot-2018-12-10-at-3.53.52-PM-600x327.png Bradbury was one of the most vocal critics of this type of behaviour from Key's government.

Minimum wage up $1.20 to $17.70 effective 1 April.

I am reserving judgement on this until I can find out how it affects the WFFTC abatements.

Perhaps targeted tax relief for low income earners (not just those with families) in association with a small increase in minimum wage rates would have been a more effective method.

Unfortunately nothing has even been mentioned about WFFTC abatements as of yet.

...

How would you implement something like that?  Reducing the tax rate on the lower/lowest income band?  Increasing the income thresholds for the lower/lowest tax rates?  A rebate at the end of the tax year for lower earners?  Some other mechanism?

Well a 7.3% which is not great and could be higher.
