Didn't Trump ask for legal advice on whether he could pardon himself? What was the answer? Would it provoke a Constitutional crisis?

Nobody is completely sure. Such an action runs squarely into the limits of theory. If a President pardons himself, the ratio between guilt and freedom tends to infinity, leading to what Legal Relativity theorists refer to as a singularity: where time stands still and the Rule of Law no longer applies. In the case of a charged, rotating spherical President, some lawyers predict the possibility of a so-called Naked Singularity, in which space and time itself may become chaotic and stormy leading to the total breakdown of the Constitution.

AFAICT, there's nothing specific in the constitution to say whether he can or cannot pardon himself - it's unresolved.  So I guess that if he did attempt to pardon himself, it is an immediate constitutional crisis.
One safety net is that the POTUS can only pardon those convicted for federal crimes - not state crimes.

FEC LAWSUIT:

A new bombshell lawsuit from a pro-Trump political group claims Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign colluded with the Democratic National Committee to launder upwards of $84 million in funds to skirt federal donation limits.

According to Fox News, the Committee to Defend the President filed an official complaint with the Federal Election Commission; claiming the Hillary Victory Fund “solicited cash” from high-powered donors and illegally “funneled” those funds through state chapters and then back to the DNC.

The whole thing was Hillary's fault ...

True to form:

President Trump on Monday put the brakes on a preliminary plan to impose additional economic sanctions on Russia, walking back a Sunday announcement by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley that the Kremlin had swiftly denounced as “international economic raiding.”

Preparations to punish Russia anew for its support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s government over an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria caused consternation at the White House. Haley had said on CBS News’s “Face the Nation” that sanctions on Russian companies behind the equipment related to Assad’s alleged chemical weapons attack would be announced Monday by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

But Trump conferred with his national security advisers later Sunday and told them he was upset the sanctions were being officially rolled out because he was not yet comfortable executing them, according to several people familiar with the plan.

He makes it so hard to believe that he's neither one of Putin's "kompromat" assets, nor on the payroll.

Pence would have to bring "mother" to their oval office meetings - lest he became overwhelmed with the impulse to act on his impure thoughts.

Talking of comedy shows:

Cohen’s team claimed in the Monday filing that Hannity’s identity was protected under attorney-client privilege, but the U.S. Attorney’s office disagreed, alleging that Cohen’s team was simply employing a delaying tactic.

Cohen has more attorneys than he has clients,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas McKay quipped.

Cohen attorney Steve Ryan argued that the third client—Hannity—is a “publicly prominent individual,” who did not want his name released.

“I’m simply trying to protect the privacy of that individual,” he added.

After much discussion, Wood ruled that the name must be publicly disclosed immediately.

“The client’s name is Sean Hannity,” replied Todd Harrison, Cohen’s attorney. The room erupted in laughter.

Since we're in New Zealand, some may not be familiar with Sean Hannity.

If you're not, count yourself among the very lucky.

He's been an insane conservative host on Fox News for over 10 years.

He's a conspiracy nut. .

His Wikipedia section called "Political commentary, controversies, and criticism" is many pages long.
