So it appears Trump was correct.

In relation to what? Genuine question.

When he announced the cease fire. The doom sayers on here said he was lying.

The sea is full of sharks. Any prospect of an opportunistic neighbour thinking this might be an ideal opportunity to grab a few juicy Iranian prizes?

Other than Trump and Netanyahu, nobody in a position to do so is dumb enough to try. The Arab royals are well aware that without the stability of not having WWIII, they're back to herding to camels in the desert. There's nothing in Iran worth risking that.

No one is in a position to invade Iran. Iraq is enmeshed in their own civil wars and the Taliban aren’t interested in going outside their own country. Pakistan has India to deal with and Turkeys economy is still a mess.

Tks

I have read in the media that the ceasefire was in place, largely helped by Qatar, then I see it wasnt yet agreed by Iran or Israel. Ultimately it was, yes. But its wasnt when Trump announced it. You know more than me, you living in the UAE, but it "seems" to me, a local as in Qatar effort, yet someone will take credit for it all, for a supposedly likely end to all issues, forever. Be that as it may, I'm personally happy that its a great result for you and your family

You are assuming that the media has all the information. Hostilities ceased a couple of hours after Trump announced them. It seems pretty clear he was correct

This particular sequence of events is pretty similar to what happened in 2020 after the assassination of Qasem Soleimani. There’s a quiet negotiation, Iran get their show “revenge” attack for propaganda purposes and then a cease fire happens.

That would be a first.

Hopefully this ceasefire holds.

Forever he predicts. In other news, sorry for wrong thread, Israel guns down food finders in aid stations in Gaza, 21 dead. With that mentality you have to wonder where Netanyahu is really going with Iran.

Israel can launch of air strikes and special forces attacks but they don’t have the capacity to do anything else. Iran is a massive country and Israel simply doesn’t have ability to control territory.

Live news. Well, media live news. Iran has sent 2 missiles to Israel. Also, the ceasefire, Trump told Netanyahu he has an extra 12 hours "to do what he needs to do" Unsure what that means

Agree, Iran has one million troops, and probably a gazillion more they can make ready if needed, but they are miles and miles and miles away from Israel, so largely redundant.

Iran has suspended IAEA involvement for now. Probably re hiding the uranium they removed pre USA attacks. Quite a chess battle going on now, but at least the skies are quiet.

Yes. A couple of commentators, one a retired General said that violations are quite common. Need to wait a bit to see what happens.

Iran has now denied the two missiles post ceasefire. Who do you believe? Iran, Netanyahu, Trump, they are all rogues.

If Iran did violate that would be super foolish. Israel, make a story up, a good idea if you get way with it. Otherwise "just a mistake".

In essence, no idea.

Command and control by Iran probably isn't the best. Let's see in the next few days.
