This is truly remarkable.

Trump launches a pretty furious attack on the Koch Bros - who are massive GOP donors.  IIRC they were going to be donating US$400 million to the mid-term campaign.  I'd expect many "libertarian" leaning GOP politicians are heavily dependant on Koch contributions.

They must be pulling the pin / turning off the cash flow - and Trump is clearly more than a bit upset.

Background is that they're "objectivist" libertarians, David Koch ran as vice presidential candidate for the Libertarian party.  They believe very strongly in individual liberty (hence are strongly anti-authoritarian), free trade, and open borders if workable. Some people accuse them of being alt-right - but no way, they're closer to for example NZ's ACT party.  The affiliation with the GOP "for convenience" as they're anti-socialist including ideologically against all forms of welfare.

Something's happening behind this.  The Kochs tend to shun publicity - so I don't expect they'll be spilling the beans - but there's a split happening in the GOP, this could be a real problem for Trump.

Here's what set Trump off - a political ad funded by the Kochs - and probably a taste of the kind of thing they'll be spending $400 million on over the next 100 days.  Trump has an enormous problem:

If I had a dollar for every time someone has said that, I could buy the Koch brothers. :-D

If there are any doubts of his insanity this is it.

If "The Simpons" character "Mr. Monty Burns" was a real-life person, he's be one of the Koch brothers.

Think of Rupert Murdoch, but more influential.

Check out this one-hour documentary

But Murdoch looks like Burns - he's been morphing into it for years.

It's very odd - that Trump would kick sand in the face of such huge donors.

From a quick look, only about 5% (probably less) of GOP members are true "libertarian" leaning.  It's not a popular movement - but quite influential.  Same in NZ, ACT gets almost no party votes, there was an actual Libertarian party in NZ - they got about 1,000 party votes in general elections and have given up.  It's a cult.  Their (late) cult leader and worshipped guru used to scream "I am not a cult" - removing any doubt it is.

Whether the Kochs can achieve anything much campaigning without a party - who knows?  Democrats shouldn't get too excited - the Kochs are not their friends and never will be, so "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" concept doesn't apply.

OTOH, what Trump's been doing to upset the Kochs so much should really concern everyone.

And now for some artistic Fox News propaganda  undecided  ...

Painting of Trump team 'Crossing the Swamp' touches off social media frenzy

Jon McNaughton's "Crossing the Swamp" is a riff on the classic "Washington Crossing the Delaware," but replacing George Washington's crew with members of President Trump's administration.

The painting shows Trump at the helm, and Vice President Pence carrying the flag by his side.

McNaughton identifies the rest as: U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley; Defense Secretary Jim Mattis; Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson; Attorney General Jeff Sessions; first lady Melania Trump; Secretary of State Pompeo; White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders; the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump; National Security Adviser Bolton; Kellyanne Conway; and Chief of Staff John Kelly.

McNaughton is a Trump supporter, hashtagging “MAGA” on his Twitter bio.

Trump endeavors to cross the ‘swamp’ of Washington DC as he carries the light of truth, hope, and prosperity.

The murky water of the deep state is laced with dangerous vermin, perfectly willing to destroy American prosperity for their personal ideologies and financial gain

... McNaughton said of his latest painting on his website.

EDIT   My favorite bit is Donald carrying the light of truth.  smile

For a mere USD $705 you can buy "Crossing the Swamp - 30X45 inch Limited Edition Giclee Canvas Print, Signed and Numbered (100)"

If you have read my last several hundred anti-Trump posts, then you will know that I do not hold Fox News in high regard.  smile

LOL - that's amazing.  Give a god-fearing lunatic with TDS a paintbrush - look what happens.

He's even got a flesh coloured christ that glows in the dark in his occupational therapy scrapbook:
