That was quick. Taliban who said Afghans can leave now changes their mind and says Afghans shall not leave

It's started.

Afghanistan: Taliban tell working women to stay at home - BBC News

The headline says 'for now'. That's Taliban speak for 'forever or until we give you to one of our brave, heroic thugs'.

Batman: Isis joins the party https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news/afghanistan-news-taliban-refugees-08-26-21-intl/index.html

They joined the party years ago.

And somewhat credible claims from days gone by that the US had supported ISIL-K in Afghanistan, presumably on the basis that "an enemy of my enemy is an ally".  ISIL-K included Taliban defectors.  They also operate and commit terror attacks in Pakistan.

I saw that NZAF Hercules made a trip back to Dubai from Kabul last night (our time).  RAAF have suspended rescue flights.  UK has placed a notice to aviation to avoid flying over Afghan airspace < 25,000 feet.

You should read past headlines.

From the article:

"Our security forces are not trained (in) how to deal with women - how to speak to women (for) some of them," Mr Mujahid said. "Until we have full security in place... we ask women to stay home."

Given the claims that ISIL seem to be active and involved in terror attacks in Kabul (and think about ISIL's record on women's rights) perhaps what Mujahid says above seems somewhat credible - to paraphrase, they're trying to restore "security" using radicalised young men who've seen nothing but war and conflict their entire lives (and probably no interaction with women, and zero recognition of women's rights).

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

I read the whole article. I have no time for them. They are all from the Dark Ages.

It's no longer about them.

When isis gets a foot hold in Afghanistan it will seed terr0rr15t5.

People have forgotten what happened when the US pulled out of Iraq

I'm predicting 12-24 months of US led remote controlled robotic warfare from distance with untold casualty

Perfect is the enemy of good.

Some of our "first world" behaviours are also from the dark ages.  We helped create ISIS.

Responding to @neb in the appropriate topic ; )

Not only that, the IEA has been busy preparing for this time. In some views the IEA has done a lot to bring Afghan Muslim ethnic minorities on board this time around:

Christian Science Monitor:

Afghanistan: How the Taliban won over northern ethnic minorities:

When the Taliban last ruled Afghanistan in the 1990s, they faced stiff resistance across the country’s north from ethnic-based paramilitaries that resented the southern Pashtun militants. That resistance would prove decisive in 2001 when the same ethnic minorities, backed by U.S. air power, ousted the Taliban regime in Kabul.

This time around, the Taliban had a new strategy: Enlist minorities in the north.

they might not be able to govern how they want. Isis also wants to govern.

They've been planning this for a while it turns out

Meanwhile, the US launches an "over the horizon" drone strike on an ISIS-K truck loaded with explosives (probable suicide bomb) in Kabul.
