Iran will be relying on standard diplomatic channels for formal exchange of messages as any country does. Iran, USA and Israel do not have direct relations and that is complicated. The timelines of who did what when and why will take a while to sort out, when all this is over. At the moment nobody outside that knows anything except what they're being told.

gzt: Iran will be relying on standard diplomatic channels for formal exchange of messages .

i think they are using reliable covert possibly clandestine brokers who use direct comms channels

something that Mission: Impossible tries to expound

in fact Trump thanked Iran for telling the US that they were going to fire missiles at the Qatar base so that they have time to get everyone out and intercept them rockets

Why would they do that? They have been in direct contact with the US as well as having regular contact with most of the GCC.

To be more specific - Iran and USA have had no formal diplomatic relations since 1980. In the case of USA and Iran this means when they're not talking they exchange messages via the representatives of Switzerland and Pakistan.

I haven't been following the news in detail. What I see in this topic is someone said two missiles were detected by Israel at some point then Trump said Netanyahu can have another 12 hours to do whatever.

CNN is quoting the F word from Trump and some criticism of Israel by Trump

https://www.cnn.com/world/live-news/israel-iran-conflict-us-trump-06-24-25-intl-hnk#cmcaf5mst00003b6prm250209

I guess that means 'negotiations' are continuing

This "thank you for your attention blah blah" bs he does all the time does my head in too 😠 it's like he's not taking anything seriously and just wants to deflect from whatever big thing (or screw-up) it is that he's recently done.

I don't think that's what happened. Trump says he told Israel to stop bombing Iran. The missiles appear to have been fired around the time of ceasefire but Israel have been told to turn their pilots around and go back to base instead of responding.

It appears the ceasefire is built on destruction of Iran's nuclear capability. Something that Trump strongly believes in. So he has to give a few days for his ego to be satisfied, then someone will give him the bad news that Iran's nuclear capability has not been affected.....

Things seem to have chilled out for which I’m very grateful  I should be able to make my trip to Europe in a couple of weeks after all

Nice. As you alluded to earlier.  Despite the rhetoric from Iran, saving face, and from Trump, being an idiot, and from Netanyahu moving his evil war effort back to the poor people in Gaza, its all calmed down, which is good. Lots to resolve, but I foresee a steady war of words in the near future, than bullets.
