Probably not. NZFirst polling always drops after an election. You can guarantee whichever side they choose annoys a massive proportion of their supporters for a while at least.

Your excitement may be short lived....polls after one year are not accurate and are not really even indicative. I too think Winston and whoever else is in his party are a waste of space, but they always come back.

Of course I know that polls can change and my post was meant as a bit of gentle ribbing of the government critics, though it clearly was not received that way, for which I apologise. There is a serious question, though. Polls aren't completely meaningless so if the government really is doing so badly, why isn't this reflected in the polls? As I said before, they must be doing something right.

Hard to tell when you do a gentle ribbing or anything else for that matter.

We all should be criticising the Government as they need it and this can be Nats or Labour supporters. Both need criticism, but only one is in charge of OUR cheque book. As I said before by criticising the governing party does NOT mean you support or vote for the opposition.

The other thing the polls do show is that the support for the Nats (not Bridges) is still extremely high for one year into Labours reign. Labour were almost single figures as was Jacinda four years ago..if I remember correctly. I am sure someone will google to get the precise figures.

Whatever that means. I agree the government should be subject to serious criticism and I have no problem with that. I just find it intriguing that the more it is criticised, the better it seems to do in the polls. There seems to be some kind of disconnect there. Are the polls wrong? Possibly (heaven forbid!) the criticisms? Is something else going on?

Speaking of polls, the latest showing Ardern on 44% and Bridges on 6% for the preferred Prime Minister. Does this mean 50% of us don't want either of them?

He was well liked in his electorate for a long time. I dont give a toss what Lange thought of him.

Tax Working Group Report due Today.

Unsure what to expect but as has been point out on Twitter; this will not affect the baby boomers in the slightest, however it will likely give them lower personal tax rates on their retirement incomes.

Coalition will probably treat it with kid gloves as I am sure Winston wont like it at all. In an MMP environment I find it difficult to see a CGT becoming a reality.
