Kyanar:

You said, "a little less gloating please". And "let it go at that". While I wouldn't go so far as to call it "dictating", you were clearly trying to influence others behaviour because you found it unappealing, which I think is @freitasm's point.

I too don't feel it necessary to put the boot in. It is likely the ongoing consequences for Guiliani will be pretty disastrous for him, and I doubt Trump will lift a finger to help.

Point taken. I could have phrased it better. I wasn't trying to dictate behaviour, just express the effect that post had on me.

Nice sideway swipe at Trump. I'd expect to see a lot more.

Nothing of the mind happens in that video. Wikipedia will explain:

Wikipedia: Humiliation is the abasement of pride, which creates mortification or leads to a state of being humbled or reduced to lowliness or submission. It is an emotion felt by a person whose social status, either by force or willingly, has just decreased

Clearly that didn't happen and will never happen.

Same apples apply. He's be pleased he's getting headlines on the same page as Trump and no doubt wants to worm his way back in along with the other guy.

I can imagine this conversation between Trump and MTG:

Trump: How are you feeling this morning, Marjorie ?

MTG: Giant Beetlejuice sandworms in my backyard have left for now, so good.

Trump: Are the new meds helping?

MTG: They keep making me drowsy, but good...

Trump: I hate to ask but a little birdy told me you tried to steal the nuclear launch codes again.

MTG: Damn it!

National Review - Introducing NR’s New ‘Alito Flags’

07 June 2024

Show your support for Justice Alito and the rule of law.

National Review is delighted to announce new “Alito flags” based on honored colonial-era American flags and fashioned to show support for the Supreme Court justice.

One flag is loosely based on the “Appeal to Heaven” flag that was commissioned by George Washington during the American Revolution, and the other on the Bennington battle flag, a banner associated with the revolutionary battle that took place in 1777 near Bennington, Vt.

I wonder how many MAGA cult members will be stupid enough to buy these (at US $197 each).  😦

To be clear, National Review is supporting conservative judge Alito.

The "Dobbs" ruling it mentions is the U.S. Supreme Court taking away the constitutional right to abortion. Though of course they use the dog whistle "Dobbs" ruling instead of saying abortion.

As the article states "yes, for — as circumstances warrant — trolling obnoxious left-wing neighbors who engage in political provocations and then play the victim."

Supreme Court Alito, and Clarence Thomas, have been under pressure to recuse themselves for their tacit support of January 6th attempted coup by Donald Trump.

This despite the many editorial and opinion pieces from this very right-wing media outlet against Donald Trump.

So I guess love of controlling women's bodies by limiting abortions trumps their hatred of Trump.

Tons of pressure there it's really working

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/06/06/media/alex-jones-assets-sandy-hook/index.html

The liquidation of Jones’ assets does not mean that Infowars will cease to exist. Several outcomes are possible. The court-appointed trustee could sell the business to another owner, for instance.

Darn, and here I was hoping that Infowars going into liquidation would mean that Alex Jones would finally just shut up.

RawStory - Database reveals 'staggering' $6.6 million in gifts to Supreme Court Justices

09 June 2024

U.S. Supreme Court justices have received millions of dollars in gifts over the past two decades - with far-right Justice Clarence Thomas being the main beneficiary of this largesse, according to a detailed analysis published Thursday.

The advocacy group Fix the Court published a database listing 546 total gifts valued at over $4.7 million given to 18 current and former justices mostly between 2004 and 2023, as identified by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). ...

Thomas led the pack with 193 FTC-identified gifts collectively valued at over $4 million. Of these, he listed only 27 in financial disclosure reports.

By dollar amount, the late Justice Antonin Scalia came in a distant second with 67 gifts worth over $210,000 combined, while Justice Samuel Alito took 16 gifts valued collectively at just over $170,000.

At the low end of the database, Justice Brett Kavanaugh received a single gift worth $100, while former Justice David Souter was also given one gift with a value of $349.
