The real test comes when they try to sell Musk's vehicles.......
Those goofy trucks look like they'd be at home in Logan's Run.
You have interns with no formal security clearances that officials are supposed to give unfettered access on their word.
They operate outside all security normal procedures.
Everyone is going to want to get in on it of course.
DOGE impersonators demand sensitive information at S.F. City Hall, flee before deputies arrive, authorities say

Authorities believe three unidentified men posing as DOGE agents attempted to seize sensitive information from San Francisco City Hall before they were rebuffed and fled on Friday afternoon.
The incident took place at noon as the suspects approached City Hall wearing DOGE shirts and MAGA hats, according to the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department.

All you need are some state level hackers with professional social engineering skills, and this is a gift.
Apart from Elon Musk posting secure data in the open on his DOGE website for giggles.
An interesting (and lengthy) look at what brought Musk to where he is now, moving from being a left-wing supporter to a right-wing one.
Apparently it all started when Biden snubbed him over Tesla cars not using unionised employees or something. Given how thin-skinned Musk is - especially regarding any criticism, no matter how small - it's not surprising that he took his response to the next level and (literally) threw himself at the orange buffoon.
13 kids. Jesus Christ, and I struggle with 2!
He needs to learn to keep it in his pants, seriously...I saw him described as being a "serial impregnator" or something like this and I can fully see why! 😮
It's a sociopath/psychopath trait, their genes are so valuable that they need to spread them around as widely as possible. Boris Johnson is another prime example.

Plausible although I suspect there's an interest in farming enough spare parts to keep him going as well.
Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21

Continuing on from the above - one thing I must find quite puzzling about this whole "DOGE" nonsense is that there doesn't seem to be any hard numbers coming from out of them - as well as questions of who's actually running the show (apparently it's not Elon - https://abcnews.go.com/US/white-house-claims-elon-musk-doesnt-run-doge/story?id=118913206 - but that's another story).
Sure, he does his crowing press conference things from inside the White House standing next the grinning orange buffoon - gleefully saying things like "we fed USAID into the chipper"...but where are the actual numbers on all the "massive fraud" he's (supposedly/allegedly) uncovered?
I mean he should be saying things like "we looked at USAID [for example] and there was $X being spent on some programme that wasn't returning anything and was just losing money, so we cut that, saving the taxpayer $Y per year!" That sort of thing - I think - would be far more useful, because sooner or later he is going to start getting asked these hard questions, and a blanket "we killed that off as it was costing too much" isn't going to cut it.
In other words: I think Elon should show his work.
You definitely don't want Elon running things (you'll have to edit the URL because the post is blocked if I use the original link). One of the links in that writeup is to this story about his decomissioning (more like razing) a data centre.
Its only 4 years how much damage could they do to Americas institutions ?
So with such a chain of custody, can any of the supposed data now be trusted.
Alternative facts made real.
Given Elon Musk, Trump etc relationships with facts prioritizing convenience and aggrandizement.
Xi will be happy to host the data and Grok at a discount rate for maximum efficiency. :-)
Will look after all those CIA agents on the China desk with special care.

Are you really still assuming that they will abide by the laws (which are currently being honed)? It will last longer than 4 years ... but less than 1000 years like 1933. 😉
- NET: FTTH, OPNsense, 10G backbone, GWN APs, ipPBX
- SRV: 12 RU HA server cluster, 0.1 PB storage on premise
- IoT: thread, zigbee, tasmota, BidCoS, LoRa, WX suite, IR
- 3D: two 3D printers, 3D scanner, CNC router, laser cutter
The problem with DOGE is that Elon goes around claiming to have save money here, and money there. But there's no evidence. Only his word for it. No external, independent audit.
And I don't consider his word worth of anything these days.

A possible (surprising?) casualty of people defending Musk and having backfire on them - Joe Rogan:
Prominent podcasters are used to getting hate on social media, even from their most regular listeners. And redditors, in particular, are not necessarily representative of the feelings of the larger audience — the subreddit dedicated to Rogan is certainly more politically liberal than his average fan is likely to be and has complained about him for years. But this recent onslaught is notable for its scale, its intensity and its type. The mostly good-natured ribbing is gone, replaced by a very specific kind of frustration — the idea that he’s sold out his base. Rogan’s genuflections before the leader of DOGE are straining the limits of his credibility and appeal.
As Musk works directly with the Trump administration, Rogan now runs the risk of sounding like a standard political podcaster defending his team. What he taught his listeners over the years — don’t trust the people in charge — is redounding onto him. There are few overt signs it’s hurting his listenership (at time of publication he was sitting at third in the Apple Podcast Charts; he’s regularly occupied the top slot in the past), but Rogan’s enthusiasm for Musk has the potential to change the nature of his show and ironically make him a much less influential political commentator.
