If RFK Jr. is in an article, you know you're in for a crazy ride.

Now it's whether he ate a dog in Korea, or as RFK Jr maintains, it's a goat in Patagonia.

A veterinarian’s opinion that it was a dog, by counting the ribs, in Kennedy’s picture has been removed.

Vanity Fair: RFK Jr.’s Family Doesn’t Want Him to Run. Even They May Not Know His Darkest Secrets.
...
In the photo RFK Jr. was posing, alongside an unidentified woman, with the barbecued remains of what he suggested to the friend was a dog.

Kennedy told the person, who was traveling to Asia, that he might enjoy a restaurant in Korea that served dog on the menu, suggesting Kennedy had sampled dog. The photo was taken in 2010, according to the digital file’s metadata—the same year he was diagnosed with a dead tapeworm in his brain.

Rudy Giuliani claims Trump stiffed him out of $2M in wages :

Newsweek - Bankrupt Rudy Giuliani Sought Trump Payment 'Any Number of Times'

05 July 2024

Rudy Giuliani has sought a $2 million payment from Donald Trump "any number of times," the former New York mayor told a bankruptcy deposition.

Giuliani lost a $148 million lawsuit and has been disbarred as a lawyer as a result of his work for Trump, yet has never been paid for his services.

He told the deposition that the former president's campaign officers have ignored the numerous invoices he has sent and have only ever paid his expenses. ...

When asked if he was on a salary at that time, Giuliani replied: "I was supposed to. I got paid expenses, but I never got a salary." ...

Giuliani said that he had never calculated how much Trump owes him, but that total figure was "about $2 million."

"He who sups with the devil should have a long spoon"   😏

He won't get anything else out of Trump. I do recall reading that Trump gave him a few hundred thousand towards lawyers bills a while ago, but it either came from his campaign or the RNC (I can't recall which) - definitely not from Trump personally. Hell, Rudy wasn't even paid for the work he did trying to overturn the election on Trump's behalf.

Nope, he can kiss that goodbye, he won't get anything more from the orange buffoon.

That would mark the end of the Conservative party.

Rudy Giuliani

Speaking of which...

https://www.msnbc.com/the-reidout/reidout-blog/rudy-giuliani-mike-lindell-rcna160197

Giuliani’s public free fall, from mayor of New York City to podcaster for a conspiratorial pillow-pusher, shows no end in sight.

Funny, I thought Lindell had no money whatsoever? How can he afford to pay Rudy anything? Unless it's coming out of Bannon's bank account, I guess.

This is the condensed introduction to an interesting article:

AlterNet - Opinion - How authoritarian leaders get away with it

07 July 2024

Experimental psychologist Bob Altemeyer spent his entire career studying authoritarians, both the leaders and the followers. In 1998, he wrote:

Wanna-be tyrants in a democracy are just comical figures on soapboxes when they have no following. So the real threat lay coiled in parts of the population itself - ready someday to catapult the next Hitler to power with their votes.”

Research yields this list of conclusions about authoritarian followers:

  •     They are highly ethnocentric, highly inclined to see the world as their in-group versus everyone else.
  •     They are highly fearful of a dangerous world.
  •     They are highly self-righteous.
  •     They are aggressive.
  •     Their beliefs are a mass of contradictions.
  •     They reason poorly.
  •     They are highly dogmatic.
  •     They are very dependent on social reinforcement of their beliefs.
  •     They vastly overestimate the extent to which other people agree with them.
  •     They are easily duped by manipulators.
  •     They are largely blind to themselves.

AlterNet - 'Yacht trip to Russia': Senators publish list of Clarence Thomas’ gifts from benefactors

09 July 2024

Two Senate Democrats have published a list of roughly three dozen lavish gifts Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas received from right-wing billionaires during his time on the Court.  ...

The list describes gifts from far-right real estate magnate Harlan Crow ...

The gifts from Crow date back to 2003, and list excursions like "Yacht trip to Russia and the Baltics" and "Helicopter to Yusipov Palace, St. Petersburg."

Out of the roughly two dozen gifts Crow gave to Thomas, four are private school tuition payments for his grand-nephew. Many of Crow's other gifts were private jet flights and yacht cruises ...

Last month, anti-corruption watchdog group Fix the Court totaled Thomas' gifts and found that the conservative jurist had received approximately $4 million in gifts dating back to 2004 – far more than any other justice on the Supreme Court. And of the 193 gifts Thomas received, he only listed 27 on his required financial disclosure reports.

EDIT:

"Conservatives" are only conservatives when it comes to other people's rights.

They will do anything to keep theirs.
