So I guess you believe Hillary should be sharing the cell with Ivanka Trump, since Ivanka did the same thing.
If you read what I wrote you will see I never expressed an opinion whether or not Hillary should have been in jail, I was passing on the point of view of people I know in the US. I don't know the facts (as I guess you don't either) to be able to make a judgement. However if Hillary was guilty then so is Ivanka.

I have have it first hand from friends who were in the US recently for several weeks. They travelled widely in the US, the only support they found for Trump was in the New York area. Everywhere else was pro Trump.
Nope.
As of July '19, Trump has negative approval in:
Hawaii
Alaska
Washington state
Oregon
California
Nevada
Arizona
Colorado
New Mexico
Nebraska
Minnesota
Michigan
Wisconsin
Illinois
Ohio
Virginia
North Carolina
Maryland
Pennsylvania
Delaware
New Jersey
New York
Maine
New Hampshire
Vermont
Massachusetts
Connecticut
Rhode Island
Florida
That's 29/50 states, some pretty close (Florida, N Carolina).
So it's not actually a question of "if" your friends got the wrong impression, it's more a question of "why" they did. Even in Alabama, 35% of people disapprove of Trump.
I'm only repeating what they told me. How or why I have no idea.
I don't know how those approval polls were conducted but what needs to be born in mind at the last US Presidential election polls were not picking Trump to win yet he did.
If you read the article kingdragonfly posted I think many of the people there also "disapproved" Trump in one way or another but I suspect they will still vote for him.
Please don't think I'm a Trump supporter, because I'm not, I'm just trying to put some perspective on this topic.

She lied to just about everybody. She would tell the audience what they wanted to hear. One story one day another the next.
She was despised by many people I knew in the US. They may not have been a fan of Trump but there was no way they were going to have Hillary as President.
Some think she should have been in jail for treason for the fact she had deliberately used an insecure email server which the Russians accessed.
She didn't tell people what they wanted to hear. If she did she would have told the voters in Pennsylvania etc that she was going to get them back to digging coal. Instead she gave long winded wishy washy talk about a changing economy and funding for retraining schemes. She held up app development etc as an example and while that played well in California and New York it was not great in the mid-west. She also kept telling people to refer to her website for details. Trump by contrast kept it simple, told them he loved coal and they will be back digging coal. He lied to each audience and told them what they wanted to hear.
So, how did she get the name "Two Faced Hillary"?

I'm sure that the polls - regardless of apparent uselessness of polling as an accurate predictor of election results - are a much better indicator of public sentiment than "what your friends thought".
Trump is - with the exception of Nixon but only just before he resigned - the most unpopular US president in modern history.
I can't speak for others in this thread, but I think there's already "perspective" in terms of widespread acceptance that despite being a filthy dirty liar, a racist, a misogynist, and showing definite fascist authoritarian tendencies, there's still a good chance that Trump will get a second term.
You're suggesting from your friends anecdote that outside NY, "everybody" supports Trump. Nope - you're wrong.

I presume because she told Wall Street bankers a story that they wanted to hear - which wasn't quite consistent with what the liberals in the party would like.
I don't think you'd get too much argument from "grassroot" supporters from either Rep or Dem parties, that Wall Street and "big money" exerts too much influence on US Politics, and that many politicians sell their souls to the highest bidder.
One of Trump's greatest and wealthiest and arguably corrupt supporters kicked the bucket this morning. Blessed day.
I see Fox News condemning the "nasty" things being said, defending him because of "great philanthropy". Philanthropy is a great escape while you're raping and pillaging - the planet in that case.

Misogyny. I am still pretty sure she didn't win the election because conservative wouldn't let them have a woman president, not after having an African-American president.
So they just did everything they could. Even creating these epithets.

Hillary Clinton has a lot of baggage. She would not have been a great president. But she would have been an adequate one. The ongoing attempts to demonise her, even though her time as a politician is over, says more about the madness of King Donald than it does about her. People really need to get over her and focus on things that matter.

Yes. People seem to forget he's been on that seat for more than two years now...

US President Donald Trump has demanded American companies stop doing business with China and announced increased tariffs on Beijing, capping one of the most extraordinary days in the long-running US-China trade war.
Makes a lot of sense, you can tell he is a successful businessman.
A massive amount of retail is Chinese made, thats a lot of goods to cease entering the border
Therefore replacement with US made goods will be much much more expensive, the public will be happy
Tariffs are good, but from an administrative cost saving suggestion, Id suggest just tax the US citizens directly, as thats who pays for it
Adam Smith will be turning in his grave.
If, based on previous comments he does get another term, the US will go backwards fast IMHO. The other 6,999,999,999 people will just want to ignore that country.
Sarah Sanders is apparently joining Fox News. A match made in heaven.
