Yep, thats fair enough. JK had the same issue, with one of his key people, pun not intended, and a lobbyist. As GV inferred, its a small country, not many degrees of freedom here. She is open for scrutiny, if there is impropriety, it will be found. While we don't have regulations here, it could have  been spelt out by the two of them early on, but apparently its always been known they are buddies from the past, and to today. Although they don't hang out now, as they might continue to do if she was not PM. I'd assume she was a target by the Opposition and journo's, even for criticism and news articles, but it never happened

Worth watching though

Has anyone else noticed the recent disappearance of Simon Bridges into the background? Normally when National attacks the government, or scores a point, Bridges gets interviewed about it on the news. Lately Bennett and Collins seem to have taken that over. Could there be any significance to this?

Ive noticed that, in conjunction with a couple of articles about anti Bridges from within National (which I didnt bother to read)

I see the clear coup. It's obvious. Its not worth posting, otherwise it gets seen as a bitch post. Nature will take its course.

IMHO National will grow if they ditch Bridges. BUTd  Collins is a risk, she is toxic. Bennett is too wishy washy. They need a new name, a clean name. And they need policies. Check the policies when JK won. There was none, literally. And I mean none, they campaigned then on a slogan, and no more.

I believe Bridges is improving with time. Quite impressive that he gets to announce so many important Government leaks like todays budget leak. I really hope the leak is wrong, as spending in excess of 1 billion extra on defence and no help for health (other than inflation) is just wrong. Based on new Defence and foreign affairs spending, NZ First is the big winner.

He is improving of late as he has been out of the news. Bear in mind that I supported him, I thought it was good move, but it hasn't worked out that way

He is familiar with leaks, yes. Very much so. Robertson said its not from this years budget, lets wait and see

The budget is a well being budget, does that mean its only wellbeing? Dont think so. Its a 3 party Government, you cannot avoid having measures that are not just Labours

The budget will be bad, as it will be too much or too little, or wrong priority and so on. Be fair, not matter what he says it will be no good. I'm more interested in how the overall spending is tracking, the trend lines from the last budget, to this, to the next

I predict that will be lots of nodding and clapping from behind Grant Robertson as he delivers the budget. There will be shouting and derision from the other side of the house.

And that my ‘wellbeing’ won’t be improved by it.

Eh, seems like it does what it says it will on the tin. Nothing massive, hardly a game changer, but it's not going to make anyone's life worse by the look of it.

Pretty squarely pegs the 2021 budget as the infrastructure budget then.

Looks ok. I took it as a well being budget, more about social factors than much else. They are trimming surpluses, thats good.

In my opinion this last week has been one of the worst week I have ever seen in Poiltics, and it is all summed up very well in todays Herald by both Hoskings and then again his wife.

For Mallard to still be Speaker let alone an MP is beyond belief when he actually launched the workplace report himself and yet he has proven over and over to be the biggest bully in Wellington. To call out a rape when none occured hopefully will end up in the courts where it belongs.

National as well havnt been perfect, this last week and seem to have been poorly advised. Despite this they did obtain the budget details by a simple website query which I am guessing many other s did as well. Treasury, Robertson and Peters response were disgusting and can be simply called bullying. Treasury knew about the problems with their website since Tuesday so why did so many from the Government lie to the NZ people?

A disgusting week.

Fine. Its one thing to be partisan, but if you wish to pick and choose , and exaggerate where needed, close eyes if needed, assume, guess, then don't expect a considered response

EDIT

Put ALL the cards on the table and discuss

I don't usually enjoy what Garner says, but in this case he too has summed up the events well, just like Hosking and his wife. Maybe everyone is wrong..or wait could it be your dark glasses...

This is pathetic.

Im well over KiwiBuild, But JC need to get a life. About are looking at rent to won, JC says "Judith Collins said Phil Twyford appeared to be giving up on the dream of Kiwi homeownership."

Yeah I wonder where the inability for home ownership came from.
