Of course it is. This kind of thing has no place in New Zealand. Unfortunately, the idiotic comments aren't much better.

On two counts It surprises me that muppets that do this can 1. write  2.actually new there was an election.

I agree completely ignorant but go and read some of the facebook comments from both parties and then you will not be so surprised. 

Reinforcing that unless we address some of problems in our society ( I hate to say it) things will get worse I hope I am wrong.

I think Rikkitic is referring to idiotic comments like "typical left kind of behavior", and "this is what happens with the left, cant handle it when they don't win" etc etc..

as opposed to "good job" and "when you support such views this is what you get" ...

Probably why the truly damaging thing about this event is that Stuff create a story out of basically nothing (worse acts of vandalism/ graffiti tagging etc happen every night) then open up the comments section allowing idiots  to spew bile and "moral outrage"

There's no worthwhile contribution (editorial) from Stuff.  Creating / courting controversy generates ad revenue - so don't expect them to be responsible in their reporting.

The victim couldn't even be bothered laying a complaint with police - but they clearly had time to talk to the Stuff tabloid web-rag knowing that this would generate far more interest than it deserves.
