Hello

Firstly my apology for posting this below in the wrong forum initially. I must've been half asleep.

I have read this from Simon, our aspiring MP:

"National Party leader Simon Bridges says he'd like to think tourism to White Island should be allowed to resume in time"(from RNZ)

A tasteless sentence while we have next to us patients(these who survived) with terrible injuries. It will be so hard for them to live with such injuries for many years ahead.

I feel ashamed that the talk about resuming the trip to White Island was even mentioned at this time.

My very best wishes to all affected for their recovery.

It's probably a mystery to Simon as to why he ranks in single digits in "preferred PM" polls.

Nobody listens to a word that I say
And at work I'm just a foremans tool
Sitting in the corner with my coffee & tray
All the secretaries think I'm a fool

This is a discussion everyone is having in the media. It's likely he was asked and gave an answer?

This single quote is well out of context. There was a lot more to it than just this!!!! You seem to be politicising this more than Bridges.

I too would hope that tourism does resume in time when it is safe, and after the appropriate inquiries have taken place.

So for a start he is an aspiring PM (he is already an MP). This is obviously a question asked of many people, so to single out one is disingenuous.

Still haters gunna hate, particularly when it comes to politics.

In other news (abc.net.au) "New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she will reserve judgement over whether people should have been allowed to visit White Island, but points out that other countries also allow tourism to active volcanos"

Is this just as terrible from an actual MP, sorry PM?

She seldom answers any questions directly.

I've been up close and personal with lava flow on a boat tour in Hawaii.  Loved every second of it, what an amazing site, one of the best things I have done as a sightseer.  But on reflection quite risky.  Not long after we were there, a boat was struck by blobs of lava and people were seriously injured.

Also she can't answer the question, because she doesn't know and because she doesn't wish to prejudice any upcoming inquiries.  It's an unreasonable question and one no PM could be expected to answer at the present time.
