Living in interesting times is one thing, but 2020 is going completely off the chart. Now the latest is that Kim Jong Un may be seriously ill, perhaps mortally so. Or he may not, but missing grandad's birthday is a big deal in North Korea.

Completely overlooked by the media is the news that Julian Assange became a daddy twice while in the Ecuadorian embassy! In a normal year that would have made headlines. Now it barely rates a mention in passing as the news avalanche thunders down on us.

I hardly dare to wonder what is next.

That would explain his sister coming out of private life in the last couple of weeks.

And no, the media did not miss Assange's fatherhood. It was well publicised - at least in the UK.

Boris just about karking it was a goodie - especially after an initial "it's just the flu" plan to try to do the "herd immunity" thing.

US oil futures trading at minus US$37 a barrel is a pretty spectacular moment in world history - especially a few days after Trump's braggadocio about how he managed "The Art of the Oil Deal".

Here we've had unbelievably stupid Minister Clark's post lockdown trips for a bicycle ride and a trip to the beach, Bridge's 1,000km round-trips to have video conference meetings because his "internet at home wasn't good enough", and today his spectacular misreading of the public mood on Facebook.

In the US - the same gun-toting "preppers" who have set themselves up with bunkers full of food and ammo for the apocalypse - are marching on the streets because they can't survive a couple of weeks at home...

I give up.  I'll say my prayers to the FSM and sleep well tonight.

There's been bit of a history of optimistic South Korean "insiders" prematurely declaring the Kims to be gravely ill or at deathbed etc. I'd treat this kind of thing with caution.

South Korea spies say they don't see what the US sees, shrug shoulders.

Watch and wait.

Yeah can't really say the Assange thing was completely overlooked by the media... while linking to an article about it. I also saw it in the news several days ago.

He is yesterday's news, totally irrelevant and I don't know why anybody would care about him anymore.

Maybe he's still alive - but perhaps his Korea is over...

This is a risky prediction but here goes. Scott Morrison will do something correctly. Trump will utter a complete sentence. Seriously though I don't think we can rule out the US finishing 2020 in turmoil post election.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Smoking may be a miracle treatment / prevention for Covid-19?

Not really  - but they're looking at the effect of nicotine patches - https://www.france24.com/en/20200423-france-testing-whether-nicotine-could-prevent-coronavirus-1

If he succumbs to his  illness the world will lose not just a glorious leader but a really talented golfer.

He carded several holes-in-one during his first ever game as a child.

A month ago The Onion accurately predicted that mango Mussolini would hype-up household cleaning products as a cure for C-19:

He appears to be Schrodinger's dear leader.

(according to reading assorted news stories - none of which claim to have seen his dead or alive personage)

KJU is alive - he apparently opened a fertiliser factory in NK yesterday.  But nobody had a camera.

Genius or madman? Musk's head seems to have exploded.
His twitter feed reads like he's eaten some strange mushrooms - and he comes up with the brilliant idea to talk-down his own share price:

OK, so maybe Kim isn't dead. Or maybe the North Koreans have figured out how to do deep fake videos. But just look how fat he is. How pudgy his hands are. No-one who eats that much cheese can stay alive for long. Cigarettes won't kill him for awhile yet. His arteries definitely will.
