This and our actions following our own mass shooting is a resounding illustration of the insanity of the US system and why, as I have repeatedly asserted, that no one should remotely care about what happens in the US following each mass shooting. Because a significant number of Americans will feign outrage and concern for the victims whilst continuing to accept the status quo.

Unfortunately for them, citizens of the USA are bombarded with their national creation myth. You know, defeating those dirty English scoundrels who wanted to stop the colonies living in freedom etc.

This leaves citizens unwilling to challenge the deficiency of their constitution. They're also trained to honour the sanctity of their constitution, most not noting the irony it already has many amendments.

You get the government you deserve.

Good on the Canadian govt for taking our lead. There's no need for them , I say as former SKS owner.
