I just watched the select committee meeting in where he was supposed to be grilled over events surrounding his wording of rapist in the building.

If that is the opposition and work then god help them, If that was a grilling then I am a mummy's uncle.

I do not agree we should be fitting the bill for this, his mistake it should be coming out of his pocket.

Trevor Mallard is one of the worst people to enter Parliament and we need to be rid of him as soon as possible. It was a disgrace that he was made speaker with his chequered history. The taxpayer should not fit the bill for the stupid things to come out of his mouth.

I wish I was surprised that Ardern continues to support him.

I agree the scruntiny he got from the opposition was laughable.

There is no-one being held to account.

Proof that this Government doesn't believe in accountability. One wonders what someone has to do to get a no-confidence vote by JA and Co. Making unfounded rape allegations should be enough, but the fact the TaxPayers should make it a total slam dunk.

Yeah I would have to agree, zero accountability he should have been out when this first surfaced.

I don't agree that he should be forced to pay for it.

But for sure he should be fired as Speaker of the House. This is just one of many indiscretions, not the least of which was punching Tau Henare in the lobby back in 2009.

Why should the public be required to pay for him opening his big mouth? I am sure we could find many better uses of 300K.

His position was indefensible.
