Just W.T.F , These people need to be dismissed from their jobs asap.

Totally disgusted with this sort of attitude these people have

Acting CEO say's it's not wide spread yet the informant is saying people are accessing files all the time.

Have you read to the end?

“This behaviour is not tolerated at all at ACC. Since being informed, we have moved swiftly and stood down 12 staff and begun an immediate investigation into this matter.”

Yeah I did read that but but being stood down and being dismissed are two different things.

I think you will find it really hard for a New Zealand business to lay off someone without following a process.

Good old 'Unsocial Media'.

Oh... 'one manager was even a member of the Snapchat group'
Seems they have too much time and too little to do, 'Devil and Idle hands thing'

I'm more surprised that there is not a logging of access to files.
A good induction process after going through the policies of accessing files and privacy.
You then later show people a log is kept, to emphasize, don't share passwords and only access files you work on.

Reminds me of a discussion with an operator on an IBM 370 at a major international corporate.
Part of the job was emptying the internal message system printout bin.
Apparently default was a high speed printer printing hardcopy of this all day and no one locally could stop it.
Managers and staff outside the computer room had no idea ?

The old days when computer admin was more like being part of a priesthood.

I bet this sort of thing is more common than we'ed like to beleive

Time & time again , we hear of misuse of private information by those working in govt depts .

Its about time we had some criminal prosecutions .
Make it known this sort of thing could end in jail time & I bet it would be alot less common.

If we cant trust the govt depts with our personal info .... then they have a real issue .
Thats why the covid app was initially so rarely used, so many didnt trust the govt depts .
