Umm ... NZ General Elections is an easy exercise. 5 million people vote. At the end of the day, Winston Peters decides.

Now he's not happy? Hmm ...

He's probably just unhappy no one (or not enough people) wanted to vote for him in 2020. Sore loser much? Come on man, that was almost 2 years ago. Look ahead to 2023, don't be like Trump, forever banging on about/relitigating the past.

I think hes trying to reestablish himself / NZ First as an alternative kingmaker with a 6th party being able to form a Govt.

Labour/Greens are set as a coalition, as are Act/National. As it stands, that leaves Maori party as current balance of power, so 99.99% would be Labour/Greens/Maori. If NZF get a say, that could create National/Act/NZF and maybe Winson would be a handbrake on some of Acts policies that are a little too extreme for some.

If this story on The Spinoff is anything to go by, Winston really hasn't got much chance at all. NZ First's polling is in the doldrums at the moment and hasn't changed much since the last election.
