Although my political views tend to lean to the right and it's of no direct consequence to me, I'm glad to see Bolsonaro gone.

After I was born, I didn't talk to my parents for two years.

Well the left and right thing is not entirely binary.
Pretty much most sits nearish the middle on most things.
Then the middle is somewhat subjective in itself an approximation.
It's the problem with Presidential systems, necessarily first past the post.
While ours has faults, all democracies do.
Surely better than risk of stumbling into becoming an autocracy every few years.
An Orban, Putin, Lukashenko wins once then riggs things, so they then win for life.
I expect the story is not over given the USA example there is already chatter about voting machines and every kind of conspiracy.
Will Bolsonaro go quietly into the night ?
YAY! "Trump of the Tropics" is no more. And quite rightly, too.
Dunno...
He is not conceding defeat and seems to be leaving options open.
Seems that truckers, or trucking companies have no interest in democracy.
living in a dictatorship is just what every truck driver wants ?

Did the football fans just want to get to the game, or have a greater interest in a freedom.

Seems that truckers, or trucking companies have no interest in democracy.Yes and no. If your boss offers paid days off and time with your mates and free food for the duration you'll get a lot of takers. Add to that not many people will naysay the boss.

Depressingly, I wouldn't have expected any less from the so-called "Trump of the Tropics" and his mob. Fortunately this one looks like it was shut down before it got too carried away (or anyone lost their life).
I really hope if Bolsinaro is behind this he is captured and found accountable in a timely manner, unlike the orange buffoon.
Speaking of which - predictably, his fan club is cheering this nonsense on: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2023/01/of-course-steve-bannon-and-january-6-fans-are-cheering-on-the-brazilian-insurrection/
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/01/13/americas/brazil-public-prosecutor-investigate-bolsonaro-intl-hnk/index.html >> while I have a lot of respect for all the work the January 6 Commission did regarding the Capitol attack, I hope the wheels of justice move more quickly in Brazil than they do in the US.
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/01/14/americas/brazil-congress-riots-timeline-intl-latam/index.html CNN has a very good timeline on what happened. Hopefully those responsible are held to account very soon.
Steve Bannon involved in this one too.
Across several episodes of his podcast and in social media posts, he and his guests stoked up allegations of a "stolen election" and shadowy forces. He promoted the hashtag #BrazilianSpring, and continued to encourage opposition even after Mr Bolsonaro himself appeared to accept the results.

He also has links to Counterspin Media, who were being hosted on his GTV Media Group.
