The act party want to remove Easter trading restrictions
Actually would like to see all days in Easter have no trading.
And while we are at it block trading for all sundays as well
If is too busy. We need to slow life down.

When I first came to NZ. It closed for the weekend. All shops shut after late night Friday shopping, until Monday. The only places I can remember being open were daries and, maybe, gas stations, and in those days there was no superette at the gas station. It took some getting used to, but now sometimes I get quite nostalgic for the good old days. But then I am just a grumpy old man.

Oh I wasn’t blocking sundays for religion. I am atheist. Just to have a day off for the week.
Is there jobs where people work 7 days week? I just have different days off.
Also some people could lose their jobs if no work Sundays, as Sunday staff not required, or work that supplies stuff for Sundays.
If Sunday shopping bothers you, just stay home. Problem solved.

So because you don't want to shop on Sundays, noone else should be allowed to? A bit selfish, don't you think?

I quite like shopping on Sunday, going down to Mitre10 or Repco to get stuff.. so I would find it hard
Would life be more slower, and sustainable to have one day off? may help with greenhouse gases?
eg in Germany they still have sunday off https://www.infomigrants.net/en/post/6051/why-are-sundays-so-quiet-in-germany

I find it hard to make a serious argument about this. Are you saying you want shops closed on Sunday for everyone else but open just for you, Michael Jackson-style? Are you saying you just want to be able to wander in a deserted town, like The Last Of Us? Why not close everything every day? That will really do wonders for greenhouse gasses. Or bury yourself in a fallout shelter like Blast From The Past. Life is certainly slower there!
Shops are open every day (except Easter, of course!) because of public demand. That is how the majority of people want it. There are all kinds of advantages, like not being confronted with shuttered businesses after you finish work. As part of a minority, you can not expect the majority to go along with something they don't want just to please you. But you can control your own personal environment. Go to a nature reserve. Close your curtains. Get some noise-cancelling headphones. Join a cult. There are all kinds of solutions.

I have a family. I work all week, and we have Saturdays full of commitments like swimming lessons. Sunday is really the only day I can get out and shop, esp if I want to hit hardware stores , and it's nice to have fresh bread etc for the start of the week.
No one if forcing you to shop on a Sunday. If you don't want to shop on a Sunday, then don't. But it's not clear to me why you think there should be a law change to impose your preference on other people, whether they like it or not.
You do your thing, and I'll do mine.
