Voyager lists MyRepublic under their "Customers, Compadres & Consorts". Chorus lists MyRepublic as supplying UFB in more regions than Voyager. Voyager also promotes itself as a wholesale ISP. What's the Voyager-MyRepublic relationship - is one of them wholesaling off the other?

 

My Republic's voice service is wholesaled off Voyager (You can see this from the www.nad.org.nz site) My Republic and Voyager uses backhaul off Vocus/Callplus (ex FX) / Slingshot. MyRepublic buy bandwidth off Vocus and Voyager buy bandwdith off Vocus and Vodafone (Source bgp.he.net) Voyager also purchase some backhaul off Kordia which ultimately generally is built on Vocus/Spark fibre.

if networks are important to you it does make sense to do some homework on if your ISP is whitelabel or uses its own network. it does not really matter who's fibre they use, but it does matter if they actually have their own MPLS network backbone, which only a few carriers in NZ do. (Spark/Vodafone/Vocus/Kordia/2degrees & Chorus to some extent) -> every other ISP is using part of one of these guys networks (well to reach every UFB area, some of the RSP's have small bits of their own networks, mainly in Auckland)
