Has anyone figured out how to "unlink" the existing credit card? The email says you can pay by direct credit but presumably I won't get an option for that if there's a credit card saved.

The e-mail I received states "By loading a direct debit, you will override your stored credit card option."

Doesn't answer the question if it's unlinked at all, but I consider switching to direct debit to have fully revoked any consent to use the card.

I'm trying to do direct credit, i.e. paying to their account manually. I don't use direct debit as I've been stung by it in the past.

Fair enough. I had to do a chargeback against HD several years ago (long before they were acquired by Voyager), so I understand your concerns.

Voyager is the best ISP I've used, and while there have been errors, including with billing, I've never had any trouble sorting it out.

I really dislike having to bundle services with companies to get a better deal, because when they put up prices or service slips it can be a pain to uncouple those services, espcially if they are trying to lock you into a contract term.

That's usually how i feel, but I review electric and gas prices regularly and haven't had to switch away from Nova yet.  Furthermore their multisaver combos are no fixed term, so if a better deal comes along I am still free to switch.  In the meantime i'm enjoying 20% cheaper broadband, and 10% cheaper gas.  The only snag will be if their upstream sucks but, no fixed term, so i can switch back if i am unsatisfied.

Voyager offered a $5/month discount for 3 months to try keep me from cancelling. I'm guessing they are betting on everyone else increasing their prices too.
