Hi there,

I'm in the the throws of connecting to UFB but for some reason cannot get it to go on the Netcomm NF8AC Rotuer (my install) from a Huawei ONT (LFC install)

Any folk out there connected to the voyager network with one of these routers (which incidentally has one of the most clumsiest interfaces I've come across) recently and have the settings on hand I'd love to get hold of

Ive tried most commons settings on the eth4/eth4 options and configuration is the from the Lan1 port on the ONT to the WAN port with the VLAN set to 10 (as per build info) and the other on 0. So I guess there is one magic tick missing somewhere.

Any thoughts appreciated Voyager didn't seem to keen to help with options once it was a bring your own router deal.

Sounds like you have set up the ETH Layer 2 interface.
You haven't mentioned whether you have added PPPoE to this interface under WAN Service?

Another thing to look out for when you are setting up PPPoE connection type, ensure the 'PPPoE Service Name' field is left blank.

maybe try that but throw in you voyager details instead of the spark ones

Cheers for the replies, I tried the Spark version over the weekend and will try around the Eth 2 options and have left service name blank.

It's loaded under the PPPoE Under the Wan service so back to the fiddling tonigh quite a frustrating one as its only a tick short of a full picnic but cant see under the netcomms archaic interface what it is.

did you look at the netcomm guide above, should have all the screens you need to go to just change the details for those required by voyager

might pay to to a factory reset and start from scratch

Cheers I did redo the Spark set up using Voyager log on information etc again after another factory reset but alas it remains elusive. Ive tried with the DHCP both off and on and no luck.

Unfortunately for some reasoning the ONT appears nicely locked out for logging into to check its settings to double check what the dhcp is set to at that end

Might be off to another comp tech in town to avoid the frustrations

Not much they suggested I try another router which is interesting given that without a VLan option its unlikely to fly. The other routers in the house all are fairly old so not much hope.

I guess a long email dialogue with Voyager might be the next option as well. Having configured lots of other connections over the years then its odd that its being so hard to get.

It came with few options and hints but pretty standard stuff.

VLAN ID:10

Username and password

Assigned IP 114.23.150.77
P DNS 114.23.1.1
S DNS 114.23.2.2

It appears the ONT is configured with the Assigned IP as it causes a network conflict if you try and drop that lot in. I think however it maybe in the ONT as it only brings up a IPV4 address (another random one) and subnet but no default gateway.

I've poked many common configs at it and nothing seems to work so far so im starting to seriously wonder if the internet is stuck in the glass pipe somewhere.

pretty sure the ONT does not have an IP address, it just acts as a media converter. if it does have one its not going to be on any of the interfaces you have access to, will be one that LFC has access to for maintenance.

your router needs to have the IP and DNS in it

The ONT is a layer 2 bridge. There is nothing to configure.

The LFC might very well have set the fibre up wrong.

You can use your computer to verify. Plug your computer directly into the ONT. Set VLAN on your network card driver's settings to 10. Start a PPPoE session on the computer. If that still doesn't work let your ISP know and get them to check with the LFC.
