You chould be praising the industry as a whole and Chorus for this change, not the ISP.

Sounds like you're very close to your cabinet, with a very clean line, combined with the switch to 998:

So yeah, as above, that jump in sync rate isn't unique to voyager.

Oh OK, the only thing I guess I can give voyager is the awesome price.
Yes I am close to the cabinet and voyager had the correct splitter installed etc.
Thanks for the heads up

Indeed, that does sound like a pretty sharp price :) Was there a cost for the master splitter install?

No fee for the master splitter install, $14.95 one off cost for static ip and 24 month contract at that price. I find that better than $80 plus for no contract and no vdsl splitter.

I still remember being astonished that they could get more than 2400BPS out of copper... 100Mbit is crazy.

In saying that, very very few people will achieve 100Mbps, but yes, that's the new theoretical limit.

Cheers - N

yes but depends on the line card in the cabinet, broadcom ones seem to be capable of 100/50, while ikanos ones seem to be capiable of 70/30

it seems there's quite a lot of people on ikns line cards showing attainable over 100 megabit, and that it's mostly that the ikns line cards can't do more than 70 megabit.

i wonder if people are going to try pushing to get shifted to broadcom line cards now... :)
