Are any of you currently using Voyager for residential offerings?

Considering making a change from VF, and many moons ago Voyager used to be my home ISP back with dial-up.

Seems they're now offering residential again and am looking for feedback from those using them.

Yes I have a connection with them - I switched from WXC to them around 2 weeks ago.

- Support is very good (however only during certain hours).
- Speeds are good in general.
- The general product (VDSL + VoIP + Managed Router) is also very good.

I would strongly recommend them as an option.

Yup, was with V/fone but they couldnt offer me what I wanted so looked around and found Voyager could do what I wanted for $80 less :)

Signed up on VDSL and been very happy with them - open about any network issues, phones answered within 30s (the times Ive called).

I've been with them for a couple of months now.

Signed up for the $69 unlimited contract for 24 months.

We are rural so can only get ADSL1 at about 5Mbps so can't really comment on the speed but it is no different to our connection we had with Slingshot previously.

It works great though and we watch streaming stuff on the AppleTV4 and it comes through in HD no problem.

Our VoIP is with 2talk.

We have a bunch of customers with them, and I use them at home. Support is pretty good, though only during business hours, which is a little frustrating.

Pricing is good. Their voice platform hasn't been as reliable as I'd hoped (We don't use it so I am unaffected). I believe they have moved forward projects to cope with improved performance and reliability in that regard.

Why not just use the original base station that come with the phones and hook it up via that? The DECT on the Fritz is dodgy anyway... You won't be able to use the Fritz! with a Voyager VoIP line.

I think all those traces go via San Jose. I suspect you can save some latency if you find an ISP which goes directly to Los Angeles; best case is RTT ~126ms Auckland <-> Los Angeles.

SJ <-> LA is 9ms according to https://ipnetwork.bgtmo.ip.att.net/pws/network_delay.html which looks about right seeing as those posts above were around 135ms :) But I'm not a network engineer, *shrug* ask your ISP about it!

(just in case you didn't figure it out, look for the airport codes, SJC => San Jose, LAX => Los Angeles, LGA => New York, etc..)
