Hi.

Has anyone here ever setup a linksys ATA with Voyagers VOIP services?

I have my login and password etc, information provided to allow me to connect my phone to the Zyxel modem I use, but nothing for a third party option.

Any assistance appreciated.

Should be pretty much the same as your Zyxel? To get it working you really only need your proxy address, username and password.

And then just generic settings like ring tones, dial tone, dial plan etc. Which are all searchable (but sbiddles blog is probably still the best for NZ settings)

It does take a long time between dialling the number and it actually making a ringing noise on the handset? IS that a setting that can be changed?

That will be the dial plan. Have a look on the 2talk site and grab a copy of theirs.

Yep that's your dial plan. As mentioned, take a look at Steve's blog from years ago. It needs a bit of updating but pretty much everything for the average user is the same - assuming the zyxel uses a standard-ish dial plan? Here is a super basic one I would start with for testing...

111|[2-9]xxxxxx|0[34679][2-9]xxxxxx|02x.|0800x.|0508x.|00x.

Those last few will still give bad delays for your mobiles, 0800, 0508 and international. Mobile is the most annoying with 9,10, 11 digit numbers - that's where Steve's blog comes in to play for a full set of matches. You probably also want something like *xx (would match *55, but not *555) to match any feature codes voyager uses for things like voicemail or call forwards?

If you happen to have the optional STUN server settings populated, this can also cause very long delays before ringing. At least this is the issue when setting up 2Talk in a Cisco ATA. This may not be relevant to you, but worth checking.

Ok. So I set everything up and it's working fine except I wanted to get that long dialing problem resolved. I setup a new password and logged out and back in and used that same password. Now I have tried to login to change the settings and the username and password don't work! I am essentially locked out.

I had this before. Anyone know what's going on?

I am 100% certain I know the correct password and that I typed it correctly, esp since I logged in with it already.
