If the Voyager space probes were launched today, how would the sounds and pictures of earth be encoded for the alien audience? Is a golden analogue record still the best choice for cosmic durability?

Great Question!

 

I initially thought "oh this'll be simple, digital of course..., oh ...wait".....

 

Then it became apparent there's not really a much better option out there than what they used back then

There's nothing I can see on that record to say "don't eat us".  There's even a photo of a tiny earthling eating a larger earthling.
