Maybe thats your problem, with no mortgage and no outstanding amount on your CC you are probably costing them money so they want you to move banks :)

Hey John, I wouldn't take it too personally. It would have been an automated thing perhaps? If you aren't using your limits sometimes banks will reduce the limit.

I have been with ASB for about 20 years and recently decided they had treated me badly ( I could share an overseas stolen credit card story that would make your blood run cold) for the last time, and moved our stuff business and personal to Kiwibank, who aren't perfect, but better than ASB. I really hate two things about ASB.. One their Internet banking charges you $2 to set up a payee, and the second you can't copy and paste a whole account number into the fast cheque part of the system.

I have even done beta testing for ASB before they launched the new ASB app and the next version which included the Facebook payments, It's not like they don't know me

Maybe they are dissatisfied with your beta testing, now that they have me complaining that their app is tediously slow.

EDIT: fantastic news about the $2 fee for saving a payee. When we first joined ASB 5 years ago, I emailed them to ask why they charged that fee when I could just write the account details down on a piece of paper, and also my previous bank ANZ didn't charge for it. I got back a very generic answer.

I don't think removal of the adjustment necessarily indicates they think you're a bad credit risk. I don't have any auto limit increase on my CC, but then my limit is pretty high which might be why. I know of someone that had to jump through hoops to get a small increase on their limit and then a short time later got an automatic increase put through, so sometimes there's just (seemingly) no logic.

I guess when that day comes you can apply for an increased limit and find out then if they consider you a bad credit.

Mine is still there. All be it a joint account so both parties have to approve, but it is still there.

Connecting to UFB? Go with Bigpipe and use this link for free credit!

Maybe you just need to alter the credit limit at VF of a few of the ASB acct managers and it'll all come right.

ASB love a good generic response. Once asked them why online banking passwords were case-insensitive and they replied that strong passwords were unnecessary because Netcode and encrypitation (and yes, they spelt it "encrypitation").

I can still change my limit. I've currently got it set to $10,000 but the limit for me is $15,600. I always pay off the whole balance every month, so they never earn any interest from me!
