I figured this was the case, I might just have to use my credit card at Countdown, a bit silly really, I use a credit card, they are charged fees from Visa, I use my debit card they get charged the same fees, however they make it hard on me to use my debit card, which I prefer as I like using my own money and my credit card is actually a personal loan as such so I don't use it much.

It really depends on your view. I would never, ever want to have a debit card due to all the limitations that exist with them. If I go and stay in a hotel for a few days or book a rental car I don't want them to be able to use my money as a guarantee. Likewise if my card is ever compromised (and I've had it happen in the past) I don't want my money to be used to fraudsters - yes I'll get it back, but I'd prefer the bank's money to be used, not mine. I really am surprised debit cards have become so popular.

I too have decided to wait until i can ise my iphone6.

Scares me a little as to how many retailers will adopt this as I am sure Apple will want a piece of the action that could make it all too difficult for smaller retailers.

Apple Pay will work with any Paywave/Paypass capable terminal.

Presumably/hopefully if paying with an iGadget incurs more charges for the retailer, they will either prevent this form of payment or charge extra for it - in exactly the same way as some already do for credit cards.

Apple already skins some off the transaction with Apple Pay.  It's why some US retailers refuse to use it, and why I doubt it will really take off outside the US.

Doubt it. It's Apple we're talking about. If it were gonna take off anywhere, itd be NZ and Australia where PayPass/PayWave are already taking off absurdly fast. If anything I think retailers will want to embrace it now because it'll only become more popular as time goes.

I was talking in dollar terms...a lot of smaller retailers don't offer credit card services now because of bank fees. I assume these bank fees will increase with Apple pay so Apple can also get a click of the ticket.

Simply because some people have been fooled into thinking that all credit is bad credit.

That is a consideration, however I have bugger all money in that account at any one time anyway, it is usually all transferred to my savings account except my petrol and spending money for the month.

I am not great with credit cards so have decided to try and live without one.
