The upcoming Windows 10 phone looks outstanding, almost good enough for me to switch over from Android ... almost. The non-existent apps, like NZ banking for eg, are still a show stopper!

Well as has been pointed out, many of the local banks use a hybrid approach - basically just an app to give you an icon in your app drawer...it just wraps a web browser component and displays the online site to you. All you'd need to get parity with that would be to set up a shortcut to the website on your phone and use that.

Using it for a couple days now being able to search for transactions is pretty good as I quite often tag payments with codes etc.

At times it feels like a 'read only' portal with minimal functionality when it comes to exception scenarios (e.g. amending payments).

So my mother just tried to make a payment on the new system, on the verge of rage quitting multiple times constantly questioning why they had to change it. Lucky for the computer I was around. For the less computer literate people I could see the struggle, the payments page is horrendous, constantly clicking on things that are not clear, the old system although was outdated everything was simple.

Anyone know how long we can continue to use the original login before they phase it out?

Haven't looked at the Web version yet, but on my Android phone I was able to transfer some money to my wife really quickly and easily - I found it relatively intuitive. The one thing I didn't like was how all the text is left aligned on fairly wide fields, leaving lots of white space to the right but the dollar value is right aligned, leaving lots of white space to the left. Some poor design decisions here which have made it a bit hard to read.

Because then it would have been fine on Android but looked completely wrong on iPhones. It's stupid, but they've just tailored it for their largest customer base and said "here, whatever" to the rest.

Nope, they tailored it to what they know themselves because they all use i(diot)Phones. They could totally have still had separate look and feel for Android and iOS, but it seems they are to simple to understand that, or perhaps just too lazy to do it. Either way, it's unforgivable, since they are treating their customers as second class.

As a Windows Phone user, I find it perfect in the phone browser and don't need an app. Westpac One is saved as Favourite in my browser.

I have noticed that Westpac One is now the default choice. The old one is still there but the old link now redirects to one.

My gripe with it is that they have actively gone after password managers both good and bad. While in some cases it is a good thing with some browsers(if not all) keeping passwords stored in a plain text file it effects good ones that are encrypted(1Password etc) most people will in turn pick week passwords that they can remember or write them down defeating any good achieved.

Has anyone else found that Lastpass cannot login to the Westpac-One site. I am just continuing to use the old site, as this is fine using Lastpass. Lastpass login fails to Westpac-One on all my platforms (Windows browsers, Android tablet, Windows phone) so that makes it a complete fail for me.

There has been recent publicity regarding sites deliberately making themselves password manager unfriendly, in the misguided belief that this is a security "feature".

That code doesn't confuse 1Password which I use.

FYI they also have below that a second input and password which are hidden, and the submit button is actually a div element to avoid "that autocomplete issue" (presuming they refer to "the issue where the browser enacts the users preference instead of the boneheaded security boffins")

That code doesn't confuse 1Password which I use.

I also use 1Password as well and that line of code is confusing it. Username fills in but the password will not.

Deleting that line from the page will allow 1Password to work for me.
