So it looks like Westpac has launched their new online banking system today. What does everyone think?

I've had a quick look at it and while it looks nice, I don't really see a lot of new features. It looks like they've just spent time making it work across devices and cleaning up the interface.

The most impressive takeaway for me is being able search using keyword for transactions and paste a bank account as one field. Most banks allow paste and underlying script breaks the branch/account/suffix up.

Not sold on the whole 'timeline' feature as I like to segregate each account usage up for different purposes and have no need to group them into a single view.

Other than that it is a major improvement over Original banking which looked like it was from the 90s

I have been using it since last year, and don't find it as good as the ANZ system.

dont like the payment page, before it just comes up with a list of your saved people then you can just enter the amount for each person on one page and pay everyone at once.

now you have to do them one by one

Yeah, that's pretty silly imo. Feedback provided.

+1 The list made it so easy to pay everyone at once on payday. Looks like I'll continue using normal one for now until they change this

EDIT: Just saw this: See the full list of features not yet available on Westpac One.

Coming soon We’ve changed online banking for the better. Westpac One has loads of exciting new features that are firsts for New Zealand banking, plus we’ve added more functionality than ever – allowing you to do more of your banking wherever you are. And this is just the beginning. Over the next few months we’ll be adding even more exciting features to Westpac One. And more functionality too, like the ability to:

  • pay multiple people at once
  • edit payments and payees
  • set up password and security questions for the first time
  • download statements
  • make payments to countries other than Australia
  • view older transactions in Timeline
  • search and filter Timeline by more options
It’s all coming soon. If you need to do any of these in the meantime, please log in to Original Online Banking and we’ll let you know as soon as they become available in Westpac One

So far so good. Glad that finally can view all account balances in quick view without having to log in.
Also being able to login with a pin is a good idea on mobile, saves trying to type my incredibly hard password

Pretty sure mobile app just utilises a mobile browser session rather than native app api calls (after authentication)

Probably, because the new Westpac One online banking system is a "fully-responsive platform".

Change to iOS or Android then and it will not be an issue
