I've used Online Eftpos with PB Tech a few times without issue, but I just tried to use it to order from a restaurant and had to follow a very obscure set of steps to find my "customer ID" on Westpac's website. With PB Tech you use your online banking username but the restaurant (via Order Meal) needed a 9-digit ID. Not a great experience.

dude, are you confusing online eftpos with POLI?

usually for online eftpos you simply choose the bank icon and enter your mobile number and then go log into your banking app to approve the transaction that is magically waiting for approval.

I am not. It seems that Paymark's implementation is not as smooth as whatever PB Tech uses (Windcave?).

It was an issue last month too, I quoted the info in the previous page (https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=191&topicid=324703&page_no=2#3493548 specifically). Westpac obviously has a bug mapping mobile numbers to customer numbers at the moment so disabled it for Online EFTpos.

Ah, yeah, I remember reading that post now that you've pointed it out. Presumably you were also buying from a vendor that uses Paymark.

Having a look back, the only transaction that weekend for me was actually PB Tech, I ended up using my ASB account instead of Westpac, because while I have my customer number somewhat handy I was in a rush that day. Haven’t used OE since so hadn’t seen if that message was still popping up or not.
