Usually when I get those emails it is because my power company has recorded their info from my recent bill.  That is the only change I can see.

I too got sick of the weekly/sometimes daily emails from Credit Simple, and there was no option to unsubscribe (but keep my CS account), so I just changed the email address to one I don't actually use. Peace at last, and I can still log in.

They have access to your financial data whether or not you have signed up. Signing up just allows you to view it.

Oh, right, I didn't realise CS was actually just Illion. But I was sick of getting emails from them saying something had changed in my credit history and then when I logged in I couldn't see any change.

@MurrayM This happened yesterday to me! Got an email saying ' Credit score has changed ' login and it's 100% the same as last few weeks

I've received those most months for the last 6-12 months too, around the time I pay my credit card bill. I suspect they're sending those because of an update to the account rather than the score itself.

Yes I think that makes sense. I noticed that creditors update their records at certain times so that's probably what's doing it. Power seems to get updated 1st of the month for me

I made a credit simple account as I saw some people using it here, on sign up I made very very sure I had no promotional mail checked and then went to settings and it was set to never email me.

Just got a lovely loanshark email.. Thanks Credit Simple...

Edit, just checked settings and lo and behold they turned it on themselves.

Ditto, only reason I'd signed up was my interests were peaked when I saw people here using it. Low and behold, at 11am, a lovely email attempting to promote Harmoney. Needless to say, checked my settings, and they'd definitely all been turned back on. Must be magic.

Turned them all back off now, will be interested to see if this happens again.

It is my distinct impression that the Credit Simple website exists to entice people to partake in the financial offers there. I'd say it would be a nice little earner for them.

DING DING DING DING DING. You sure have hit the jackpot!!!!

It’s another means of stuffing credit down our throats. I’ll never have any credit again in my liife time so that’s no issue to me.

And that's why I cancelled my account with them.

It's funny.. because you can't get credit if your credit is bad.. but if you have never used credit.. you're the same as bad credit..

Only way to get credit is to have good credit by starting out on good credit and keeping that credit in credit..

FFS..

Anyway.. mine's sh*t so I stopped looking at those..

Mines 607, based off of the odd late payment to Ol Mate VF. It lists an OD I never used, CC I never used and so fourth. But doesn't say if its a good or bad contribution.

Do you need to email the request for them to cancel your account and delete any personal information pertaining to myself?

I'm guessing it has the bonus that it gives them an automated way to meet their obligations under the privacy act.

My credit score has taken a dive down due to Contact Energy doing a credit check on me for getting power at the new house! This System is really really stupid

Don't stress. You recently made a real estate purchase right?

When the All Seeing Eye of Sauron discovers you are a gentleman of property your score will go up again.
