That suggests a token with a short lifespan is held by the app.

roobarb: ... If the payment terminal asks for a PIN you need to enter on the terminal, not on your phone.

Card PIN or ANZ Wallet PIN?

When you setup a card in the app it asks you to set a pin. Each card can have same or different pin. You use that.

Etcman: Had my data turned off and I just got a connection error when trying to pay today at Countdown. Think you might need data on after all.

That's HCE! Alternatively, use the shop's WiFi.

It's token based so doesn't need a data connection to make a payment. Roaming is also supported without data but my understanding is it requires an internet connection at least once every day to update in the background.

sbiddle: Everything is configured but I've tried it on 2 terminals now with no luck.

Have you tried using a standard contactless reader and attempt to query the PPSE?

Have you set up the HCE options in the phone settings as well?

I'll have a play when I get time. It's the last of my worries now, apparently Christmas is coming! :p

There aren't many settings apart from having NFC enabled and having the tap & pay default wallet set correctly.

They replied to someone who asked about SM-G900F S5

"at present goMoney Wallet isn't supporting the SM-G900F model as it didn't perform well enough in our internal pilot so we weren't confident of the customer experience. However, we're going to continue testing these flagship Android phones and hopefully it will be added to the list in the future. Thanks ^DF"

Seems very strange

Having seen the pain experienced by people trying to use a S5 with Snapper on the bus and on Semble at stores (the NFC is horribly positioned and very difficult to use) I'm not surprised ANZ have opted to improve the customer experience by limiting it.

I've successfully paid for stuff with my LG G2 running cm12.1 (rooted). I had to spoof build.prop so the device registered as a nexus 5, and temporarily unroot to add my card to the app, but it works.

edit: for those wondering, you don't need to unlock your device, you only need to wake it. I haven't tried it with the screen off yet.. but I don't want to look like a dork and have it not work.

lchiu7: Wel just got an update to Gomoney last night and now it's 5.0.7 and I got the offer to install Wallet which worked. Now to head to my local supermarket and try it out. I'll try the self checkout first so as not to block the checkout lines but if it works then I can use the regular checkout to amaze the checkout operator :-) I normally have my Fly Buys bar code stuck on the back of the case of my phone which I also use in lieu of the card itself so it will be an interesting shopping experience.

There's a few apps floating around that allow you to save your FlyBuy's style cards to your phone (copies the barcode and displays it when you open the app). Using one of those apps + GoMoney Wallet I've now almost dropped the need to carry a wallet at all (excluding for DLICNO when driving etc). Did lead to an odd look or two yesterday when I was at New World self checkout without a wallet.

Any recommendations?

Beep'nGo works well. You can scan all your cards in (including the barcode). It then generates an on-screen barcode for each card when you select it. Apparently, it also beams the barcode from the phone's IR emitter as well (for supermarket type scanners) but I haven't verified this.

Well I tried my first transaction with my N5 at New World self checkout. I had to unlock the phone and then it worked seamlessly. As it was self checkout, nobody to impress :-(  However I am disappointed that the transaction is not stored on the phone and using GoMoney the transaction does now show up in the current list of transactions. Mine only showed me from yesterday.

I know when I used Google Wallet I could see the transaction instantly on the phone and online.  That seems to be a design limitation. Even if the POS is not real-time and only does authorisation, you would think it would not be hard for the app itself to keep a record unless it's dumb and doesn't have that information.

Does Semble show you the transaction on your phone after you've made it?

Semble shows a confirmation but it will immediately show on my app just as using plastic card does. Have not had a semble process offline to see what happens then but I expect it would just be like using plastic when the machine is offline.

Asb have it processing for authorization so its slow in both semble and with a paywave card. My gem visa is instant when buying as it doesn't require authorization on all transactions.

freitasm: Interesting. It won't work on a locked phone?

As I noted earlier it worked on my N5 but I unlocked the phone.

I have my N5 set so that on the lock screen I can swipe an icon to activate the camera. When the camera is on, then if I position the phone over a Snapper card it will read the balance. So I am guessing that rather than unlocking the phone, I could just swipe the camera icon and then wave the phone over the paywave device and it should work.

I also have the phone go into the Google screen if I say (and it recognises) OKAY Google. But when that activates and you're on the Google search screen, the phone won't register the Snapper card so I presume it won't also work on the Paywave terminal.

Something to try next time.

For those with root or non-supported devices, I wrote a Xposed module for ANZ GoMoney (as someone here asked earlier if there was one). Its on the Xposed repo so search for it there. Source code is out (so you can see im not storing your information). Hopefully it works for you! cheers. it sucks that they block root users, but its justified.
