Coil:

I am very surprised people have not suggested Hospice as a charity worth donating to.
My Family donate lump sums every time we have someone we know or are related to in that Hospice.

Starscream122:

Nobody has given me an answer to my question yet...

What is a burner phone? I'm assuming it's any prepay phone (they don't have your name/address or anything)

A phone that doesn't have GPS or other data capabilities, One that uses a pre paid sim card that you do not need to have any form of ID to obtain or through an official location. (2 deg sim from the local dairy)
Use it to move your drugs or select illicit item for 2 weeks then replace it again.
Same handset can be used but if cops get their hands on it the IEMI can be linked back to all the previous numbers.
Best to use a new $20 handset each time.

I just ignore people begging on the streets and my grumpy resting face usually is sufficient to dissuade too much effort on their part.

The ones who knock on my door usually take a bit more persuasion and I end up having to explain that my charity efforts are given in time, not money as I volunteer for the local Community Rescue team.

I was dining at a casual restaurant in Auckland CBD 2 weeks back, and had a guy walk in and ask us for food, and went around all the tables asking for food...

I was an Aucklander but have moved to Wellington 1.5 years ago, and it seems to have definitely changed a lot in the short time I'd been away.

I've seen that a few times in Sydney before near the train station where the homeless junkies tend to sleep during the but never in NZ.

This guy has taken it up a level.

I don't have the motivation to read the whole article, but looks like just another freeloader to me.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

There are different kinds of begging. If he just does it with signs and isn't aggressive about it and keeps a respectful distance, others have the option to respond or not. It is not a lifestyle I would choose but I don't have a huge problem with it.
