Mine recently dropped 38 points for no reason whatsoever. No new loans or accounts, no enquiries, no late payments.

My credit score has taken a dive down due to Contact Energy doing a credit check on me for getting power at the new house! This System is really really stupid

Don't stress. You recently made a real estate purchase right?

When the All Seeing Eye of Sauron discovers you are a gentleman of property your score will go up again.

The only new query is Contact Energy

I just got my credit report from everyone again - found my credit score is on the near end of the best you can get from every provider except Illion. Not at all worried, Credit Simple is just flawed.

I pay my credit cards in full each month and my accounts with both 2degrees + Flick Electric are in a large credit.

I agree, Credit Simple is just a scam

my credit score is terrible according to them, I'm a very bad credit risk

meanwhile ANZ gave me a $x00,000 mortgage at a discounted APR, without batting an eyelid

I paid that mortgage off within a few years

they had absolutely no record of that loan at all

no I never changed my name or IRD # or anything

Just a bunch of numbers and poorly calculated scores designed to force credit down the throats of the weak or vulnerable.

I'd be considering pursuing this crowd for misuse of consumer information and misrepresenting things to consumers.

(Hard to say this as people know what they are getting into but it is too good to say no to sometimes)

Nothing was changed in the last 2 months, same amount on the credit cards which are paid back, no new loan / CC application, no late bills, however score was dropped from stable 866 to 719.

Weird

Since I have posted this, my account completely broke, wife's one kept working. I set them up at the same time, both were using G+ logins.

Had to register again using standard email + password combination and NZ passport instead of drivers license.

But now the credit score is 930, I have only increased the credit card limit by 50% when it become available online. It is still fully paid every month.

Based on this a completely random number would even provide more relevant info :D

Hmm...mine's leapt from mid-700's to 955 in the last couple of months.

Interesting, as nothing has actually changed. Still have the same amount of debt/income and nothing of financial note...

Somehow, mine has tanked by about 50 to 75 points... Nothing changed, up to date on all bills / mortgage payments etc.

Have no idea what their system does to calculate, but it seems like a function designed entirely on random() or similar.

The data is there whether you have access to it or not.  I'd rather have access to it so I can correct problems when they occur (which I've done when the utility company incorrectly reported my account as overdue every month even though it was always paid on time).

It's always been possible to request a free report from the credit reporting companies but the old process was slow and inconvenient. CS makes it easy to keep track of your credit score.

These recent posts encouraged me to check my status; weirdly, mine went up 99 points a couple of months ago, with there being no obvious reason for the change; it then dropped 17 points this month!

I also saw there was still an active 'account' for an interest-free agreement for a bed that we paid off nearly a year ago - at least having easy access to this info means I've been able to question why it's still active.

And thank god I've managed to stop getting all those damn advertising emails from them...

Mine just jumped up to 1200/1000 and I've got a message on my phone from Equifax asking if they could get a quick loan from me??

Has this happened to anyone else?

Mines jumped 200 points as well in the last 2 months. Like you, nothings changed (other then moving house a year ago and taking on a bigger mortgage). They still have my old address (now 6th in my street, woohoo).

For most activities data is only held for 5 years, so there can be changes to your credit score based on old events "dropping off" the calculations each month.

Mines also gone up 100+ points, on mine at least it appears they have added some new sources.. e.g. ANZ overdraft that I haven't had for some years is now on the list, and I don't think the trusty old farmers card I've had for decades used to be on their either.
