Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920I)

It's all setup correctly, but when I go to use it, it fails and then I have to swipe/insert card.

Whenever I buy something I record it in YNAB (you need a budget), so paying via phone is handy since I can easily enter the cost then. Originally thought it would be gimmicky but I actually really love paying with phone, its become my preferred payment method.

I was told that ANZ Australia had no white list on the specific models of handsets i.e. if it meet the spec it should work. ANZ NZ [I am told] decided to implement a whitelist down to the specific model number, the end result being a handset on one Telco would work and on another not...

Yep that is what I heard as well

And majority of the whitelisted devices are Samsungs

I think this is a known issue, I've got an active call which has escalated to the GoMoney team for investigation, in the mean time GoMoney is throwing up messages like Card Type Error, and even I saw today "Card Blocked - Declined".

The gist of it I was told was that the GoMoney app was requesting the card from the system, and the new card goes into "Approved" status automagically, then something else is meant to sweep them into "Active" after a minute or two, but the CS guy I spoke to concluded that the 2nd part for whatever reason wasn't happening. Tried since Thursday.

Edit: And just to be clear, I'm told each GoMoney registration (and wallet) gets a unique virtual cards, so it potentially explains why you are getting caught in it too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having issues using this.

Used to use Semble with my ASB card, worked flawlessly every time. Trying to use GoMoney wallet is truly frustrating and I am at the point of giving up and moving back to ASB for Semble....

ANZ only launch HCE in Australia a week or so ago.

I see a pattern that even though they are white-listed, the latest Galaxy phones (S6 range and Note 5) are having issues. Most of the people here who are having problems have these types of phones. Must be something that is specific to these devices which causes problems. Hopefully ANZ can fix it though (though knowing them it will probably take months ).

Report it every time as well....

It really shows how fragmentation hurts Android. Even using a core OS function the functionality can differ significantly between devices and work or not work if a vendor makes changes for certain countries. It's one area Apple just totally dominate in - releasing OS updates for everybody and knowing they will work..

I pointed ANZ's Twitter team to this thread too, and they've forwarded it on to the goMoney team so they should be well aware that there are at least a couple of people having trouble at the moment with approved devices.

Edit: Quick update, had a call from them today and they are trying something overnight & tomorrow morning to see if anything corrects itself on their system.

Having this exact same issue with a Stock 2D Note 4. I've given up doing NFC payments for now as I was sick of looking like an idiot when nothing happened everytime I tapped the phone only to have a message pop up 2 minutes later saying there was a connection issue. Everytime I restart I get the same "Unfortunately, goMoney NZ has stopped" as well.

good to know. I dont blame android at all for this, seems like a anz issue to me.

Had another call from them today, they said they believed that they fixed the issue and had me remove the cards from the wallet and re-add them while on the phone, both cards showed up as "Active" within about a minute, yet to try "in the real world" but hopefully whatever they fixed is a fix-for-everyone fix.
