Hello!

I recently got an ASB Visa Debit card and was wondering if the card offers the following:

*Visa Purchase Protection (A link on this info would be good)
 *Any type of travel insurance?
*Any type of rewards? (is there flybuys link?)

Thanks!

Surely your easiest way to get this info is on their website or by phoning them?

In all reality no bank is going to offer any of these on a Debit Card. Features such as travel insurance is a premium product for premium cards such as gold and platinum, which also incur significantly higher yearly fees.

What is your definition of "purchase protection?" just wondering.

Also, For Visa CREDIT card, I can't seem to find info on their website stating  'purchase protection.'

Certainly no rewards or travel insurance. Purchase protection should be there providing it's a credit transaction online or overseas.

Do whatever you want to do man.

I have one, I believe they are the same as an Eftpos card, except you can use them where you can use a Visa card.

I suspect the OP is talking about the extended warranty and theft/damage protection. These are the sorts of things that come as standard with a Platinum card.

I, on the other hand, couldn't make do with a credit limit of only 5K. Different strokes...

I got a letter from ASB (on 20th April) that they introduce ASB TripleCheck for my Visa Debit card.

This for services like Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode.

3 additional questions might be asked during the online purchase.

I had to ROLF a little at their comments about chip cards

"All the latest ASB credit cards have advanced chip technology that makes it more difficult for anyone to duplicate your card."

It's just a shame the vast majority of fraud these days involves mag stripes, and the fact ATM's still uses 50yr old mag stripe technology with no encryption in any way, shape or form.
