Looking at transferring the balance of a ANZ Visa Qantas Platinum Card to another provider - when the ANZ card gets cancelled what happens to the Qantas Airpoints? - I can't find anything on the web that mentions if these points are still valid or get revoked by ANZ?

{MOD EDIT : SP : More descriptive title added}

From my experience with other banks the card isn't cancelled automatically, the transfer just appears as a payment on the statement like any other so the card stays alive with a zero balance.

Your qantas account is a sepearate account from ANZ. ANZ just credit your qantas account with points.

So if you close your ANZ credit card it just means you will no longer get points from ANZ. You will still be able to login to qantas.co.nz and claim/use your points.

The Qantas account is actually the Qantas frequent flyer account, and is kept separate as BraaiGuy mentioned.  Therefore, even though you have cancellend the ANZ credit card, the Qantas frequent flyer account remains active - any points left in there when the card is cancelled will remain (provided those points have not expired).  You can still redeem those points for flights, or if you are flying Qantas, Jetstar or OneWorld/Qantas's frequent flyer programme partners, on a qualifying fare, then you can also continue to earn points on the account.
