Hi

It seems like you can't fund an NZ PayPal account using your bank account like you can in Australia - so I wanted to know if you fund using a credit card, do NZ banks treat that as a cash advance on the card, or a regular transaction? Does PayPal change any fee for funding using credit card? I assume not.

Cheers

its a regular credit transaction with the exception that your card details are not passed to the merchant's payment system. Fees are charged to the merchant, not the customer for NZ.

You can't "fund" your account. All transactions come directly off your credit card. The only way to have a balance on PayPal NZ is if someone send you a payment.

in Oz you can have it come straight out of your bank account without having to use a credit/debit card...

Thanks. That's a bummer because the fee to send money for a personal payment works out quite high using credit card to fund. 3.4% + $0.45 NZD
