This incident happened in BP Roadmaster, on Cnr Taranaki & Cable (And Wakefeild) St, Wellington CBD.

A taxi crashed through the front doors and ended up in the far corner of the shop.

Here is an except from the Police CommCens Alert:

"Police are currently dealing with a car that has crashed through the main door of BP Roadmaster. No roads cloased but heavy buildup of pedestrian traffic."

I think he needs to update the map on his Navman.
Or..... maybe his air con wasn't working in his taxi and the ice-cream fridge looked so appealing.

Not really sure how it happened, I was only around for the aftermath. Apparently he took out a metal pillar thing that was in his path so I dont imagine it was a case of just leaving the car is Drive. Plus he ended up right at the back of the shop so he must have had some momentum.

Here the news story related to it tho:

Good possibility.  Apparently, similar things have happened overseas because people are mindless slaves to their satnav.

Kinda reminds me of the PC gamer turned military soldier, dying on the ground after being shot.

'oh MAN!!   ....lag!'
