This thread was really popular and I promised to follow it up with another post about Primecoins using different software.

Has anybody tried TandyUK's PrimeMiner Primecoin mining software?

Has anybody got experiences to share with variations on the original post?

I'm still experimenting with the original config. I've now got 4 nodes set up and I must've hit a sweet spot last night as I've finally hit 1XPM

Block	Date Total	Add	Balance

5178 23.12. 19:35 1 +0.0048 0.9991

5170 23.12. 17:45 0.99 +0.0032 0.9943

5169 23.12. 17:35 0.99 +0.0016 0.9911

5163 23.12. 16:25 0.99 +0.0016 0.9896

5162 23.12. 16:15 0.99 +0.2159 0.988

Look at that 1 payment of 0.2159. Compared to the rest which range from 0.0016 - 0.0191, its huge.

I'll be interested to see how ypool goes for you. I've read several posts about how their algorithm for dividing up payments is pretty questionable so it will be interesting.

Possibly because I don't have the optimal client - AeroCloud, which requires a GUI - I'm getting extremely small take at ypool. Almost negligible. I'll switch my nodes back to beeeeer.org until I can work out how to get more productive or run AeroCloud without a GUI.

Also, there are a number of tunable parameters at the client end, none of which I really understand.

Can anybody else shed some light on why a default install performs so poorly?
