Don't forget to put your clocks forward 1 hour before you go to bed tonight ;)

Also make sure you have installed the Daylight saving patch from Microsoft you can find out more about it here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=933360 , http://www.microsoft.com/nz/msdn/timezone/itpro.mspx , or your computer time will be wrong tomorrow.

Tonight Daylight saving starts.

Apple hasn't released anything, but there's a third-party patch available at http://www.mactcp.org.nz/nzdt.html.

Did the Windows Patch show up in Windows Update at all - is my mother going to ring me up and say the time on the computer is wrong?

I vaguely remember this showing up on Vista Windows Update...

Pete.

Thats great news. Windows Update gets a lot of flack, but as far as I'm concerned, anything that keeps my mothers and sisters computers working while I am out of the country is just fine.

In fact, my mother has only had to ring me up with computer related issues when Xtra screwed up some upgrade to Yahoo or something.

All my Windows Servers, Windows clients (Windows Vista, Windows XP) and Windows Mobile devices automatically changed their timezones. The iMac we have here didn't.

Can you not just change the clock manually?

Paradoxsm, read my blog about this. If you only worry about the OS, yes, go for the clock change. Otherwise...

My BlackBerry 8707v also didn't update and consequently all my appointments for next week are an hour out.  Appointments from the 6th on are OK however, which is when DST would normally have started.

Not good IMO.

As per vodafones website http://www.vodafone.co.nz/business/help/daylight-saving-changes.jsp

You will need to do the changes manually.

Now comes the bad part: probably anything that you create during this week that falls outside the DST will be shifted one hour when the DST ends.

And this will happen again in the last week of this new extended DST.

See how bad is the problem?
