Hi,

Could anyone confirm/infirm that the pending credit card charges appear immediately in internet banking at ANZ or Westpac? (I know it does not happen for Kiwibank and it does at ASB).

I'm looking into changing from my ASB Visa Platinum to either ANZ or Westpac as they give out 1 airpoint for every $75 spent.

However, I'm quite fond of the pending charges that appear immediately and I wouldn't be keen in switching to a bank that doesn't have this feature.

Thank you.

On Westpac, EFTPOS seems to appear very quickly, sometimes within the hour whereas credit card can take days.  There is nearly always a difference between the transaction date and the clearing date in online banking.

If I remember correctly, credit card is different because of delays either by clearing or by the retailer processing the payment file at the end of the day (I'm sure someone will correct my terminology) based on how much they are allowed to accept without checking.

Procrastination eventually pays off.

Bummer, so neither bank has it.

It's quite strange how ASB seem to be the only (or the few) that has this basic functionality. In other (developing even!) parts of the world it has been since more than 10 years ago.

Thanks for your replies, thread can be closed.
