I noticed that the "Paypal Here" facility is available in Oz.

1. Has anyone achieved having a payapl account attached to the "here" facility and used it in NZ successfully?

Not quite sure how it interacts with paypal obviously through a phone connection or the internet.

There is the whole what currency it is in

Would be interested if anyone is using this here

It would not be possible to use it in NZ. First, it links to your PayPal account (through your phone via Bluetooth), and you have to give PayPal a valid address. Outside Aus/UK, obviously you would not be able to activate it since your account is not in a supported country. And PayPal would not let you sign up an account because PayPal Here is offered by PayPal Australia, not PayPal Singapore, so they are bound by Australian law to collect 100 points of ID - which is more than enough to confirm that you are not eligible to use it.

Currency would obviously be the currency of the country you bought the device. In this case Australian Dollars.

Thanks for the comprehensive answer

The good news is I already have a oz paypal account. As well as oz bank account and and oz ABN number

I wonder if one can change the on screen currency whilst in NZ even though as you say transactions would be in AUD

starting to get confusing

Considering your buyers would get slugged with foreign transaction fees, I'd imagine you'd anger a lot of customers trying this.

Also, no, you can't change the currency. And according to PayPal, it cannot be used outside the registered country at all, so you'd be out of luck regardless.
