Exactly that, I want to put $100 or so into my paypal account, currently when I need to pay for something it will use my linked card, but I would prefer to just have the money transferred in a bulk lump to my paypal account instead of having to pay fees every transaction

Cheers

You can't put money into the account, unless you have a US account and US-cheque account.

A way around that is to create a donation button and donate to yourself. Yes, there is a fee involved however this does enable you to put money into your account.

Also note that if you want to pay for a subscription it will always come out of a credit card, regardless of balance.

If you give me $150 I will put $100 into your paypal account... heh, just jokes.

Can everybody use a Donate button now?  Last time I looked at that you had to set up a vendor account or something.

As a guess...... as well as being subject to 'NZ financial institution etc' rules, I suspect it would also have to do with the anti laundering rules that came into effect in the last few or so years.  No doubt there are crims around the world that currently promote the use of their 'donate button' when sending invoices to their clients. :-) :-)

There are no per transaction fees other than paypals not very good international rates, which you would be affected by if you were paying from a stored NZ balance in anycase.

I am the opposite. I get annoyed when I have a ballance on it. Money sitting there not earning me anything while its there. Better back in my account but sometime retailers return it as a payment not a refund back to my visa for some reason. In a way its good since the money is still in the interest free purchase period with the visa tho.
