I see it is taking them a long, long time to bring in their new interface. The old one keeps on getting reprieve after reprieve ..... and THANK GOD FOR THAT!

Whoever came up with the new design and, obviously still hell bent on bringing this in - (even after) delay after delay, should be shot, hung drawn and quartered.

We only turn over a relatively small 7 figure amount annually through our business account, but the inability to see enough business transactions on a single page for any given day with the new interface has led us sadly, to now consider looking elsewhere for a bank that provides an interface that is manageable from our business perspective.

Seeing we have been with Westpac since 1998 and I have enjoyed a great relationship with our local manager over (most of) that time, we have discussed this on numerous occasions. It really pained me the other day to hear him say "I agree Dave and many local businesses are saying the same thing". "Unfortunately, these changes are driven by IT belief that the future is in mobile apps and the interface needs to be mobile friendly rather than desktop friendly".

REALLY??? Now when are Sammy coming out with that 27 inch x 2 display phone?

I don't know if the personal interface compares, but I like it.

I'm not sure I understand the need to see a large number of transactions on a web page, surely importing those transactions to accounting software or spreadsheet is much more practical and user friendly.

All I really see is a reluctance/refusal to adapt to change, which is what sinks many businesses.

the interface needs to be mobile friendly

No arguments there; a lot of people use phones almost exclusively these days.

rather than desktop friendly

But this is, in my opinion, the wrong approach. The "one size fits all" approach will almost always be inferior to having a phone-specific design and a desktop-specific design.

I would have thought you would be looking at transactions in your accounting software more than internet banking?

No such thing as a perfect bank.  If they are doing the other 90% right, you might just have to live with it until they next refresh the look and feel of the site.

I like the new UI but I am a personal banking customer. As others have pointed out, it would be better to use an accounting software or, at the very least, exporting it to something like Excel if you need to access a lot of data. Even Excel would offer useful tools like AutoFilter etc. Perhaps look into MYOB, Xero, etc? I don't think the other banks are much better and some (ANZ?) have moved to mobile-first designs as well. I dare say other banks have similar designs in the works.
