I'm working as a sole trader programming apps for a few months now.

I want to hire a designer from abroad to work on an app of mine that I intend to make some money from it in the future.

Can I add his payment as a deductible expense when doing my taxes? If so, what does he need to provide me so I can prove the source of the expense?
