Anybody using 2FA with Paypal?  Ive looked it up on the net and according to a bunch of different sites I should have a "Security Key" option under the account settings / security.  Yet I cannot find one!

Tried finding a way of contacting them to see if Im just being blind or stupid but they made it damned hard to contact them as well!

That link comes up as no longer available to me.  Ive searched their own support and 2FA doesnt seem to be listed at all.  Maybe they just dont support it.  Which would be weird as well these days.  And if they dont, why did they then drop it?  Even weirder...

Interesting.  I logged out and went to that link again.  And it came up.  So looks like it has to do with my account.  Maybe because its an NZ account?

Yeah I can't see that option either, and am very surprised it is not available for a service like PayPal.

Yes 2FA is only for the US and UK (i think) but it's not in NZ at all. I tried looking for it about a year or 2 ago and the options were not there then.  Best thing is to install the paypal app and set it to tell you when a payment has been made.

This is shonky as, I can't believe 2FA isn't available for Paypal in NZ. Interesting too is that the KB articles about setting it up are available when you aren't logged on, but return a page not found when you are.

I don't think it is available at all - they did introduce Two Factor Authentication, but it was exposed as unsafe, so they pulled it.

It appears they have a new system - see link below - but as pointed out, it's not yet available in NZ.... if we all send them emails maybe it will be ..... ;-)

I have a PayPal security key option in my account (Australia) but it sucks, it's just a text message so really it's 1.0 factor at best - given how easy it is to port a number with zero validation. I'm not really going to bother setting it up since it adds zero security but just makes logging in more annoying especially when travelling.

Companies need to get it through their head that Text Message Codes are not two factor, and add no real security.

I write to Paypal approx once a year to request this.

I always get back the same "Thanks for your feedback" BS.

I can't believe it's region specific, but it is.
